If you’ve ever been driving and felt like you’ve noticed tons of Toyota Camry models on the road, you aren’t alone. The Camry is one of the most common vehicles found on the road.
This may come as a surprise since the Toyota Tacoma seems like the most popular option in the lineup. It sure is getting a lot of attention thanks to its recent redesign.
However, in the fourth quarter of 2023, the Camry accounted for 2.4% of every vehicle on the road, and the Toyota RAV4 accounted for 1.7%. The Tacoma is the third most popular Toyota vehicle on the road at 1.4%.
This information comes from a recent study by Experian to discover the most popular vehicles in use. The Ford F-150 is the most common vehicle on the road at 3.7%, but this isn’t very surprising.
It has been the most popular truck for decades and even serves as the most popular used vehicle to buy.
In 2023 the RAV4 sold 434,943 models and the Tacoma sold 234,768 units. The RAV4 has secretly infiltrated truck culture and beat the beloved mid-size Taco by 200,175 sales. The 2023 Camry had 290,649 sales, so it beat the Tacoma by 55,881 models.
The Chevy Silverado 1500 is the only other truck that beat the RAV4 by representing 2.7% of vehicles on the road. But the Toyota RAV4 and Camry have defeated the Ram 1500, GMC Sierra, Toyota Frontier, Toyota Tundra, Chevy Colorado, Ford Ranger, and more.
America is a truck-obsessed nation, but maybe sedans and SUVs are starting to make a comeback. Other options in the top 10 most common vehicles on the road include the Honda Accord, Ford Escape, and Honda Civic.
