The Most Powerful Sea-Doo Jet Ski Ever Will Outsprint a Toyota GR Supra
When you hear about mid-to-low-three-second sprints to 60 mph, you probably think of ballistic performance cars and sportbikes before you think of boats and personal watercraft (PWCs). However, these aren’t the only high-horsepower Olympic sprinters capable of hitting 60 so quickly. The 2024 Sea-Doo RXP-X, the most powerful jet ski or PWC in the world, will hit 60 faster than a 382-horsepower Toyota GR Supra 3.0.
When it comes to powerful jet ski models, the new Sea-Doo RXP-X begs the question ‘How much power is too much’?
Last year, I had the opportunity to ride the 2023 Sea-Doo RXP-X PWC, a machine many would call a jet ski. By any name, I hadn’t experienced acceleration and exposure like it on anything other than a sportbike motorcycle. Needless to say, the 300-horsepower PWC made short work of blasting across Beaver Lake in the Ozarks. Now, the RXP-X is back with more power than any of the brand’s jet skis or PWCs.
Therein lies an interesting development. The 2024 Sea-Doo RXP-X is so quick from 0 to 60 mph that it will get there faster than several pedigreed sports cars. For instance, the Toyota GR Supra 3.0, with its 382-horsepower turbocharged 3.0L B58 inline-six, manages a sprint to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. However, the Sea-Doo, with its 325-horsepower Rotax 1630 ACE engine, will blast to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds.

Furthermore, the launch-happy, all-wheel drive (AWD) G42 BMW M240i xDrive with the same B58 as the Supra 3.0, hit 60 mph in 3.6 seconds. However, even with the added grip of BMW’s xDrive system, the Sea-Doo jet ski model hits 60 mph 0.2 seconds faster than a well-launched M240i.
Finally, the 400-horsepower Nissan Z Performance can hit 60 mph in around 4.0 seconds. Even with 75 extra ponies, the Z can’t outsprint the RXP-X’s mad dash on the water.
