J.D.Power gave the 2023 Titan a reliability score of 88 out of 100. That’s incredibly high, and it’s quite the achievement as one of the best scores we’ve ever seen. Scores between 70 and 80 are average, while scores between 81 and 90 are above average.
Anything between 91 and 100 is the best, and 88 is pretty darn close. The 2023 Toyota Tundra and the 2023 Ford F-150 are tied with a score of 78.
The 2023 Chevy Silverado has a score of 80, and the 2023 GMC Sierra rings in with an 84. The 2023 Ram 1500 doesn’t have an official score, but the 2022 model has an 81. We doubt it did anything special to improve its score by seven points.
However, the 2022 Titan earned an 80, so anything is possible. Until the official 2023 Ram 1500 score arrives, the Titan has the crown as the most reliable truck.
How did the 2023 Titan earn such a high score?

Every single aspect of the vehicle, from the engine to the paint, is covered and is then assessed with a 100-point scale.
On one hand, we can assume that the Titan has been problem-free for 2023. However, what if it received a lower amount of complaints because it has fewer sales? We wonder if the J.D.Power reliability score is based on trucks per capita or the amount of complaints each model receives.
It’s fair to think that the F-150 has a lower score because it has more sales. Therefore, more drivers are behind the wheel to discover issues. But on CarComaplaints, the 2022 F-150 has six complaints, and the 2022 Titan has 0. That’s a pretty close gap.
Also, the average Titan model is expected to make it between 250,000 and 300,000 miles, while the average F-150 truck is expected to make it between 200,000 and 250,000 miles.
Is the 2023 Titan worth buying?
Yes, we know that the 2023 Nissan Titan lags behind in sales, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad truck. In fact, it’s the most reliable option available. It’s a long-lasting, durable option that still features a V8 engine.
The standard 5.8-liter V8 engine delivers 400 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. The interior is spacious, with comfortable seats. Plus, it has a smooth ride over the pavement, but wind and road noise are noticeable at higher speeds.

The tech is a little behind the curve, but you still get available features such as Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, a panoramic moonroof, a power-sliding rear window, and LED bed lighting.
