Come on y’all, stop ignoring the most reliable hybrid SUV! It’s actually one of the only hybrid SUVs on the list of the longest-lasting vehicles. Haters say that hybrid engines aren’t reliable, but the Toyota Highlander Hybrid proves them wrong. 

The Toyota Highlander Hybrid is the most reliable SUV 

The most reliable hybrid SUV isn’t exactly a new option. The Toyota Highlander Hybrid has been out there proving its grit since 2006. It was the hybrid SUV to consider before hybrids became a popular option. 

iSeeCars put together a list of the top 30 vehicles that are the most likely to last over 250,000 miles, and the Highlander Hybrid is number five on the list. 

It has a 25.9% chance of surpassing 250,000 miles which is 3.1 times higher than the average of 8.6%. Toyota models also make up the top five spots. The Toyota Tundra is the vehicle that’s the most likely to last longer than 250,000 miles with a 36.6% chance.

The gas-powered Highlander is actually down in 17th place with a 15.7% chance of reaching 250,000 miles. The only other hybrid vehicle on the list is the Honda Accord Hybrid. It came in 23rd place with a 13.1% chance of making it to 250,000 miles. 

You can get started with the Highlander Hybrid for about $40,970. That starting price may seem high, but it is a three-row vehicle that has plenty of perks for families to enjoy. 

The Toyota Toyota Highlander Hybrid is equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with two electric motors to generate 243 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque. It gets an EPA-estimated 37 mpg in the city and up to 35 mpg on the highway. 

Because it’s been the most reliable hybrid SUV for years, you can save with a used model. Just remember that the key to longevity is regular maintenance and proper care.
