Consumer Reports bestowed this honor on the Lexus GX after its annual Auto Reliability Survey. Per USA Today, CR created a list of the most reliable cars. The GX is the highest-ranking luxury SUV on the list. It’s also the second most reliable car, with the 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid taking the top spot. Lexus is the luxury division of Toyota.
Also, no Mercedes-Benz or BMW luxury SUVs made the list. The only other premium SUV to earn a spot is the 2023 Lincoln Corsair, which placed sixth.
Fewest problems for the Lexus GX in CR’s Auto Reliability Survey
The reason why the 2023 Lexus GX earned the most reliable luxury SUV honor is it had very good results in CR’s annual Auto Reliability Survey. During the previous year, Consumer Reports collected hundreds of thousands of surveys from vehicle owners. These owners identified problem areas, such as noises, brakes, paint, engine, leaks, and electric system.
In the surveys, the Lexus GX had fewer problems than models from Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and other premium brands. As a result, CR named it the most reliable luxury SUV.
Furthermore, Lexus fared well on the Consumer Reports list of car brand dependability. Toyota achieved the top spot, while Lexus and BMW placed second and third, respectively. However, Mercedes-Benz is at the opposite end of the reliability spectrum. It’s dead last, making it the most unreliable car brand.
