Each model in the running was rated on value, performance, technology, and driving experience by our vehicle review team. Once tallied, we surveyed the whole MotorBiscuit gang on their highest-scoring favorites and made the final calls during a roundtable discussion with our testers and editors. 2023 MotorBiscuit Truck of the Year: Chevrolet Colorado

This year, the Colorado kicked off its third generation with a bang. After a total redesign, the 2023 Colorado is back and better than ever. Priced between $29,200 and $46,800, Chevrolet’s midsize truck retains the smooth ride it is famous for and adds some extra off-road capabilities to the mix.

Allison Barfield felt the Colorado was quick off the line and appreciated how controlled the truck’s body motions were during testing. She found Chevy’s truck was a more relaxing ride than some of the competition, and it “demonstrated the smoothest ride quality.” After driving many trucks this year, Chevrolet’s truck was just the total package. For capability, quality, and comfort, the Colorado will do well for truck lovers.

Chevy improved the technology this year and increased the towing capacity to 7,700 pounds. With five trim levels, there’s a Colorado for every driver. Chevy uses a new 2.7L turbo inline-four engine that comes in three different outputs: 237 hp/235 lb-ft of torque, 310 hp/391 lb-ft of torque, and 310 hp/430 lb-ft of torque. During testing, this gave the Colorado a smooth power delivery unmatched by any other truck.

2023 MotorBiscuit SUV of the Year: Mazda CX-90

The MotorBiscuit Vehicle Awards had many excellent SUVs to choose from, but the 2024 Mazda CX-90 proved to be SUV of the Year. As an all-new model for 2024, the CX-90 is spacious and more luxurious than any Mazda before. Taking inspiration from the popular CX-9, the CX-90 has three rows and the newest technology throughout. Priced between $39,595 and $59,950, Mazda offers plenty of trim levels to choose from.

Amanda Cline drove the CX-90 Turbo S Premium Plus and was very impressed by the interior. The tan Nappa leather was a standout option among the sea of interiors we tested this year. Beyond looks, Mazda got the formula right with the newest SUV, and the technology worked better than anticipated. Even though Mazda keeps the bar high, the CX-90 is an exemplary new flagship model.

All safety systems work harmoniously to ensure the CX-90 keeps everyone safe on the road. Three different power outputs exist depending on which trim level you go with. The Turbo S trim gets 340 hp/369 lb-ft of torque with premium fuel, while the Turbo trim gets 280 hp/332 lb-ft. Mazda also offers a CX-90 plug-in hybrid model with 323 hp/369 lb-ft of torque on premium fuel. This new engine setup provided plenty of power to scoot around town and keep a smile on our faces throughout.

2023 MotorBiscuit Car of the Year: Toyota Supra

Is it really a surprise the 2023 Toyota Supra is the MotorBiscuit Car of the Year? The Supra does it all and even comes with a manual transmission option. You’ll have to jump up to the 3.0 trim levels to get the manual. Pricing for the Supra starts at around $44,640 and increases to $59,445 for the top-of-the-line A91-MT trim.

Joe Santos found that driving the 2023 Toyota Supra was exciting and comfortable, not to mention the low-end torque that adds to the fun. With leather sport seats to hold you in place, the Supra handled corners well and really picked up in a straight line, too. The 3.0-liter inline-six roared to life, and the exhaust notes were music to our ears. If we’re talking about the total package here, the Supra is wrapped and ready for your next joy ride.

The Supra doesn’t need to be configured with the manual transmission to win Car of the Year, as Toyota hit it out of the park with all the available models. Either way, the Supra is our top choice for a comfortable daily driver that’s also racetrack-ready.

2023 MotorBiscuit Hybrid/EV of the Year: Toyota Prius

If you think you know the Prius, think again! After a complete redesign, the 2023 Toyota Prius is MotorBiscuit’s EV/Hybrid of the Year. Toyota put a lot of effort into the new exterior styling, and the 2023 Prius was awarded with a sleek and more refined look. Priced between $27,450 and $34,465, Toyota offers the Prius in three trim levels for this year.

Allison found that Toyota gave the Prius the glow-up it deserved after all these years. It’s now more efficient and the added power was evident throughout testing. Instant torque and smooth shifts made driving around town a breeze and would make the Prius a good option for almost any driver.

The 2023 Toyota Prius comes with either 194 or 196 horsepower, but the awe-inspiring numbers are for fuel economy. According to EPA estimates, you’ll get around 57 mpg in the city and up to 56 mpg on the highway. No matter how you slice it, the 2023 Prius is an excellent option for those interested in a hybrid sedan.

2023 MotorBiscuit Best Driving Experience: Acura Integra

Last but certainly not least is the 2023 Acura Integra taking home the MotorBiscuit Best Driving Experience award. The Integra has a long and exciting history with the automotive market, but it is back and better than ever. Priced between $30,300 and $35,800, the 2023 Integra is fun to drive but makes for a great everyday vehicle.

Joe tests a lot of vehicles throughout the year, so the Integra had to be pretty impressive. Acura made the 2023 an engaging and sporty ride. With Honda’s reformed VTEC engine, the newest Integra pays homage to past models and improves the overall experience. Joe appreciated the adaptive suspension that soaked up bumps on the road and felt this set it apart from similar models.

After 22 years off the market, Acura offers three trim levels for shoppers. Joe suggests the A-Spec with Technology trim for $35,800. This one comes with a six-speed manual transmission and a turbocharged engine. With 200 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque, the Integra scoots along with plenty of power for its size.
