How much does the 2022 Polestar 2 cost fully loaded?

The base price of the Polestar 2 is $45,900 before applying its EV tax credit. The low base price will make this vehicle more affordable than many other luxury EVs on the market today. Taking into account that the Polestar 2 qualifies for a $7,500 federal tax credit makes it even more affordable. In addition, you may be able to take advantage of other state or local incentives.

The fully loaded version, which includes the long-range dual motor AWD option for $4,000 more, gives the Polestar 2 added versatility and value for the money. Some additional add-ons include a performance package that will add another $5,000, and your choice of exterior colors will add $1,200. A fully loaded Polestar with every upgrade available will cost you around $57,000. 

How does the Polestar EV compare to the Mercedes-Benz EQS?

Another comparable luxury EV on the market is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC. The EQS 450 is offered with a 329-hp rear-drive powertrain. The 516-hp, all-wheel drive version is called the EQS 580 4MATIC. Both models feature a large 107.8-kWh battery rated at up to 350 miles of range. The single-motor Polestar 2 has a 270-mile range, while the dual-motor Polestar 2 has a 249-mile range.

The 2022 EQS model series is available in three different trim levels and with two different powertrains. The most luxurious trim level features heated and ventilated front and rear seats, four-zone automatic climate control, massage functions for the front seat passengers, and a head-up display. 

However, the top-of-the-line model, the EQS 580 Pinnacle, is $126,360, which is considerably more than the Polestar 2. The Polestar 2 makes it affordable for consumers that want luxury but can’t afford the steep price tag of the Mercedes-Benz.

The buying process for the Polestar 2

When you are ready to buy, the process of purchasing the Polestar 2 is a breath of fresh air. Many consumers will appreciate that there is no dealing with a car salesman during the process. You will go to the Polestar website and configure your car to your specifications. You will be able to select the color, interior, wheels, and performance package.

Once you confirm your order, a $500 refundable deposit is required. You will also be able to explore trade-in options, payment types, and warranties that are available. When your order is complete, you can take possession of the car at a retail location, or you can have the car delivered right to your home. 

Although the Polestar 2 is the first fully electric vehicle from Polestar, it will certainly not be the last. There will be a Polestar 3 SUV available in 2023. Although not much is known about the SUV offering, it will undoubtedly follow the same formula as the Polestar 2 in terms of affordability and features.
