If you want a supercar with loads of performance capability, then the Acura NSX Type S may just be for you. There are two major problems with getting one, however.

The first is that only 350 NSX Type S cars are being produced globally. The second is that it’s insanely expensive, and the price rises drastically. So, how much does it cost, exactly?

The Acura NSX Type S is a gorgeous but expensive supercar

For those who are into hypercars or supercars, Acura may not be the first automaker to come to mind. However, don’t write the Japanese automaker off just yet, because they have created a work of art with the NSX Type S.

It comes equipped with twin turbochargers from the GT3 Evo and Sport Hybrid electric motors. Taking curves is an exhilarating experience, thanks largely to its re-tuned active damper system.

Acura was proud to state, “The highest-performing production NSX ever features 600 hp for your most electrifying drive yet. With race-spec twin turbos that integrate feeling with sound, you’ll hear the NSX Type S long before you see it.”

Thanks to this, the NSX can go from 0 to 60 mph in an eye-watering 2.9 seconds. While there are certainly cars that can do it faster, that’s a relatively short list.

To make things even more interesting for the NSX Type S, it has standard AWD. However, you can only fit two people, so it will be a rather cramped ride.

So, how much is this going to set you back? The base trim starts at $171,495. If you want more, then you’re going to pay for it and pay dearly.

There’s only one trim level for the 2022 Acura NSX Type S

There are usually at least two trim levels available for most vehicles on the market. That’s not the case with the 2022 Acura NSX Type S.

For this model, there is only one trim level available. If you’re wondering whether this means that each will look identical, never fear. There are tons of add-ons and extra packages to help NSX Type S owners make theirs look unique. The real question is if you can afford it.

The price for add-ons will make your wallet cry

If you want to spend the most amount of money possible on a new Acura NSX, you’ll end up with an added cost of $25,000, according to Acura News. This includes the carbon fiber interior sports package, which includes the Alcántara hood line for $2,500.

The carbon fiber engine cover costs $750 and gives your engine cover a spice of color to impress your mechanic and lightens the load so the NSX Type S can move even faster.

The lightweight package with black, silver, red, or orange brake calipers makes your wheels stand out while shedding extra weight. This will set you back the most with a price tag of $13,000. The performance five-spoke wheels in Berlina Black darken things up for $1,500.

The ESL studio audio and technology package with SiriusXM Satellite Radio costs $500. Semi-aniline full leather power seats cost $1,000, and the exterior Andaro or matte color will set you back $6,000.

Other packages which can be purchased include the carbon-ceramic brake rotors with red caliper finish for $9,900 and the exterior pearl or metallic color for $1,000.

Since the add-ons cost more than some new cars, many Acura NSX drivers won’t be able to afford this. If you can, however, it may just be worth the extra costs.

Tragically, this is the last year for the Acura NSX, as it’s being scrapped, so if you want one, then now is the time to act.
