How Much Does a Fully Loaded 2023 GMC Terrain Cost?
The 2023 GMC Terrain is a handsome rig. It looks purposeful and competent, yet it lacks the features and performance of the class leaders in the crossover segment. All models get a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 175 horsepower, causing the Terrain to struggle to get up and go at times. It offers a spacious interior but cuts corners on some of the quality of materials. Moving up to the top-spec Denali reduces some of those issues, but then you’re paying a hefty sum.

How much is the base GMC Terrain?
Leave the boxes unchecked, and the base 2023 GMC Terrain SLE starts at $28,400. That price gets you a lot of standard safety features, including lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and traction and stability control. Airbags are positioned all around, including front and rear head airbags.
Inside, the Terrain comes standard with an infotainment system with a 7-inch display, AM/FM stereo and satellite radio with six speakers, wireless smartphone integration, and both auxiliary audio and USB connections. Also standard are keyless entry and remote start.
How much does a fully loaded Terrain cost?
Go all in on the 2023 GMC Terrain Denali, and the price jumps to $37,100. In addition to the standard features on the base SLE, the top-level package adds all-wheel drive and safety features like blind spot and lane departure warnings and rear cross-traffic alert.
In the interior, the infotainment system gets upgraded to an 8-inch screen with Bose speakers and an amplifier. Also standard are leather seats with decorative stitching and a heated steering wheel. Available options include heated and ventilated front seats, outside rear heated seats, and a full-length sunroof.
The 2023 GMC Terrain packages
Several packages are available for the GMC Terrain, including the Elevation Edition, which is available on the SLE and SLT. It includes 19-inch gloss-black painted aluminum wheels, a darkened front grille, black roof side rails, badging, and trim. Is the 2023 GMC Terrain a good SUV?
For most drivers, the 2023 GMC Terrain is average at best and doesn’t stand out or offer anything as well as other crossovers like the Honda CRV, Volkswagen Tiguan, Mazda CX-50, or Kia Sportage. Car and Driver said in its review that it “flounders in comparison to other vehicles in the segment.
U.S. News called the Terrain “A decent SUV at best.” It’s comfortable to drive, and there is ample space for people and cargo, but the interior has a budget appearance of vehicles costing significantly less. It ranked at No. 17 in the magazine’s review of small SUVs out of a class of 19. Only the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross and Jeep Compass ranked lower.
