Plenty of hybrid models are on the market now, and the 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid is managing to stand out in all the right ways. There are three available trim levels, and like most Kias, the prices are very affordable. However, is the top-trim Kia Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige still affordable when you add on every available option?

There are 3 trim levels on the 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid

For those shopping around for a new 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid, there are three trim levels. These include the LX, EX, and SX Prestige.

The LX is the base trim with a starting price of $27,490. On this trim, Kia reports you’ll get a 1.6L Turbo Hybrid Powertrain, which generates 227 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. On top of the Kia Drive Wise Driver Assist Technology, you’ll also receive a 12.2-inch instrument display, an 8-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a rearview camera.

The next trim level is the EX. It’s a bit of a price jump, as the MSRP is $31,190. It shares many of the same features as the LX trim but comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charger, power driver’s seat with power lumbar support, and front and rear USB-C charging points. Blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance are also added to the safety suite.

How much does a fully loaded 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid cost?

The SX Prestige is the highest trim level of the 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid with a starting MSRP of $36,390.

There are six available colors, and the Shadow Matte Gray is the most expensive. This option costs $595. Other available add-ons include the auto-dimming mirror with compass and Homelink ($350), a cargo cover ($150), a cargo mat with seat back protection ($115), a cargo net hybrid without audio ($55), a cargo tray ($115), carpeted floor mats ($175), crossbars ($360), front skid plates ($200), interior lighting ($300), mudguards ($125), side steps ($690), tow hitch with harness ($500), and wheel locks ($65).

When you total all this up, you get a price of $41,510. That’s an increase of $9,120. You may also have to pay a delivery fee and any fees your local dealership decides to add.

What’s the best Sportage Hybrid value trim?

Now that you know a little more about the available trims and how much a fully loaded 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige will cost you, it’s time to decide which trim is the best value. For many, that would be the EX.

For $31,190, you’re getting a lot for your money. While the LX trim is cheaper, the few additional options on the EX make the extra cost more than worth it. Having a bigger touchscreen makes it easier to see and navigate, and it’s not so huge to be a significant distraction.

You also get more standard safety features, which makes driving less stressful. Blind-spot detection is especially useful when driving on the highway. It will also spare your neck, as you don’t have to twist around to see if anyone is cruising in your blind spot.

The EX trim also comes with standard AWD, which is great for anyone dealing with wintry weather. While the Kia Sportage Hybrid isn’t exactly an off-road capable vehicle, AWD allows you to tackle some lighter trail conditions.

For the price, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a similar hybrid SUV that offers the same features for this price. When you add Kia’s 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, it’s easy to see why so many critics are raving about the 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid.
