The Toyota GR86 markets itself as an affordable sports car with addictive driving dynamics and a premium cabin. You might remember it as the Toyota 86, but it was revitalized for the 2022 model year with a bigger engine and aggressive exterior body lines. It also has a redesigned interior with some advanced safety features (which the previous generation lacked entirely).

The 2023 Toyota GR86 is indeed relatively cheap compared to its rivals. Still, remember that your choice of upgrades can boost its price significantly. Let’s go over how much you can expect each model to cost, including a GR86 with every possible feature.

What’s the standard price for a 2023 Toyota GR86?

Toyota prices the baseline Toyota GR86 at a reasonable $27,900. It has a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 228 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque.

That engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, though you can add an automatic one for an extra $1,500. The manual gearbox gives the GR86 the fastest 0-60 mph acceleration time of 6.1 seconds (half a second faster than the automatic).

The standard Toyota GR86 rides on 17-inch wheels. Each Toyota GR86 has RWD, a limited-slip rear differential, and a multi-link rear suspension. Track techniques like drifting are easier to achieve inside the GR86 with the standard Vehicle Stability Control function.

The Toyota GR86 has four seats inside, and front-seat riders get to sit in sport bucket seats with extra bolstering. The front seats also get manual adjustability levers, each with cloth fabric.

The 8-inch infotainment screen comes standard with smartphone integration, and the gauge cluster is viewed on a 7-inch display. With Track Mode engaged, the standard tachometers are swapped out with track-focused stats like your RPMs and lap records.

How much does the 2023 Toyota GR86’s top trim cost?

The 2023 Toyota GR86 Premium retails for $30,500 and rides on Michelin sport tires with 18-inch wheels. It has the same engine as the base trim. An exclusive spoiler is also added to the GR86 Premium’s exterior.

The seats inside are upgraded to leather with suede inserts and come with standard heating. This model has an eight-speaker stereo system instead of the standard six-speaker setup, plus a handful of extra safety features.

While it’s not available yet, Toyota promises that a 2023 Toyota GR86 Special Edition is on the way. This trim has an exclusive wheel design, racing stripes, and a unique exhaust. It’s also the only GR86 that can be had with orange factory paint.

Toyota also charges $425 extra for certain other paint options, such as Halo White. The GR86 models with the automatic gearbox gain new standard safety features, such as forward-collision warning and lane-keeping technology. Toyota also gives this car a few options packages, with the most expensive costing $612.

This appearance package includes black lug nuts and wheel locks, along with special Gazoo Racing exterior accents. The Gazoo Racing air filter, sold separately, costs $75. Drivers can have their choice between all-weather or carpeted floor mats, and the associated packages include a matching liner for the trunk.

Performance upgrades include a dual-exhaust system and bronze-forged alloy wheels. There are also a few extra exterior options like door edge guards and mudflaps. A paint protection film application can be added for $485.

Many of these components can also be purchased separately. With every available add-on, the 2023 Toyota GR6 Premium will likely cost around $38,873. Of course, since many of those options are cosmetic, most drivers will be satisfied with the GR86 Premium on its own.
