The Acura RDX is the Japanese luxury brand’s smallest and most affordable SUV. This compact SUV goes toe-to-toe with the Lexus NX, Infiniti QX50, and Cadillac XT4, among others. Its strong suits are a powerful standard engine, generous interior space, and, in typical Acura fashion, outstanding value for the money. This year’s big update for the RDX is standard all-wheel drive on every trim level.
So, how much does the Acura RDX cost? Also, what should luxury SUV shoppers expect to pay for a fully loaded build?
The base trim of the 2024 Acura RDX
The 2024 Acura RDX has a starting MSRP of $44,050. That gets you the base trim. In every RDX, power comes from a 272-hp turbocharged engine. It returns 23 combined mpg, according to EPA estimates.
Standard features in the base model include the SH-AWD system, a panoramic sunroof, Jewel Eye LED headlights, power-folding mirrors, leatherette seats, heated and power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient interior lighting, wireless charging, and brushed aluminum interior trim. Additionally, the standard infotainment system has a 10.2-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, HD Radio, SiriusXM, and a nine-speaker audio system.
The standard AcuraWatch safety tech suite bundles automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high beams, and traffic sign recognition.
The popular Technology trim starts at $46,700. As its name implies, this is a more high-tech SUV. Features include perforated Milano leather seats, navigation, GPS-linked climate control, Iconic Drive ambient LED lighting with 27 themes, an ELS Studio 12-speaker audio system, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear camera washer.
Starting at $49,700, the A-Spec trim is primarily an appearance package that builds on the Technology trim. However, it adds a little more than just a sporty aesthetic. You also get LED fog lights, ventilated front seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and an ELS Studio 3D 16-speaker audio system.
The Advance model begins at $51,850. Although it’s very fancy, it’s still not the top trim of the RDX. Standard features in the Advance trim include an adaptive damper system, 16-way power front seats with power thigh extensions and side bolsters, heated rear seats, remote start, a heated steering wheel, a 12-volt power outlet in the cargo area, open-pore wood interior trim, a 10.5-inch head-up display, a surround-view camera, rain-sensing wipers, and a windshield wiper de-icer.
What’s included in the 2024 Acura RDX A-Spec Advance model?
The top trim of the 2024 Acura RDX is the A-Spec Advance model, starting at $53,850. It essentially takes the luxury features of the Advance trim and adds the sporty A-Spec appearance package.
The interior of the A-Spec Advance trim differs from the Advance model. The A-Spec Advance has sportier seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, dark brushed aluminum trim, and an ebony headliner.
The only factory option on the RDX A-Spec Advance is premium paint, which includes every color except Lunar Silver and costs an extra $600. When you add premium paint and the $1,195 destination fee, the price of a fully loaded RDX comes to $55,645. However, that can go higher if you add dealer-installed accessories like a trailer hitch, all-season floor mats, or other options.
Is the fully loaded and brand-new RDX worth it?
A fully loaded 2024 Acura RDX for around $55k is still a pretty strong value. A German luxury SUV in this class, like the BMW X3, Audi Q5, or Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, would cost much more when similarly optioned.
However, in terms of getting the most bang for your buck is another story. In the class of compact luxury SUV models, the latest RDX falls all the way to No. 14 in Car and Driver rankings, with plenty of similarly priced options like the Genesis GV70 and Volvo XC60 offered above it.
