For that price, you get the much-anticipated plug-in hybrid powertrain. This PHEV powertrain consists of a 15.5 kWh lithium-ion battery paired with a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Together, this produces around 288 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain follows the same blueprint as the GT in having AWD as standard equipment. Unlike the Hornet GT, the Hornet R/T Plus is capable of driving around 32 miles on battery power alone.
The “Plus” part of the Hornet R/T Plus designation gives this Hornet model the most premium interior in the lineup.
