The Nissan Titan Pro-4X VS The Toyota Tundra TRD Pro

To get started in the Nissan Titan Pro-4X, you will need to spend about $49k. That’s a hefty price, so it better be pretty solid for off-roading.

The Toyota Tundra TRD Pro starts around $48k, so there isn’t much wiggle room between prices. However, the Ford Raptor starts around $53k, so these trucks do provide some savings in comparison,

The Nissan Titan Pro-4X gets up to 15 mpg in the city and up to 21 mpg. This fuel economy is excellent compared to the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, which only gets up to 13 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway.

The Nissan Titan Pro-4X comes with a 5.6-liter V8 engine that produces 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. It can tow up to 9,240 lb.

In the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, you’ll find a 5.7-liter V8 engine that provides 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. The TRD Pro can tow up to 9,800 lb.

For off-roading, the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro has a skid plate in the front and another one to protect the engine.

It also has front and rear TRD-FOX fox shocks with remote reservoirs along with front and rear TRD Bilstein shocks and anti-sway bars.

The TRD Pro also has a double-wishbone front suspension and live rear axle with trapezoidal multi-leaf rear suspension.

The Nissan Pro-4X has a double-wishbone front suspension with a multi-leaf rear suspension and a solid axle.

The undercarriage of the Pro-4X is protected with steel skid plates and has Bilstein off-roading shocks with front and rear stabilizer bars.

Nissan Titan Pro-4X and Toyota Tundra TRD Pro Features

The Nissan Titan Pro-4X has an electronically locking rear differential to help crawl over rocks with both hill start and descent control to prevent slipping.

Also, the active limited brake automatically senses when extra power is needed to be sent to the wheels.

The intelligent surround-view camera allows you to see all around your truck, so you know exactly where your tires will land too.

Plus, the off-road gauge appears behind the steering wheel to keep you informed about the electronic differential, pitch, and roll.

The Toyota Tundra TRD-Pro is equipped with a brake controller for towing. That’s about it for off-roading to our surprise.

The Titan Pro-4X has the most safety features in its class with forward collision prevention, automatic rear braking, lane departure warning, and more.

So, we have a winner. You get so much more for off-roading with the Nissan Titan Pro-4X. It provides off-roading tech and safety features that the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro doesn’t even begin to compete with.

But many people will still opt out of the Titan’s tech just because the Tundra has Fox shocks.
