The new 2023 Ram 1500 truck is evolving, but not really changing for the 2023 model year. The new Ram 1500 truck lineup for 2023 will remain mostly the same, but there are some notable new trims and features, like the Elite and RED Editions, as well as new gauge clusters and new tech. So far, this is what we know about the 2023 Ram 1500 trucks.

What is new for Ram trucks in 2023

The current generation of Ram trucks was redesigned in 2019 and Ram updates the truck annually. For 2023, the big news is a 12-inch frameless digital gauge cluster is available with several menus and five tiles of information. Also, many were worried that the diesel option wouldn’t return, but it will with 480 lb.-ft of torque, which can tow up to 12,560 pounds. The monster 702-horsepower TRX will return for 2023 with some special editions. For 2023, Ram trucks come in nine new solid colors, and two new two-tone colors.

The new trucks will have several new technology options. Ram’s easy-to-use uConnect system gets an update that includes a 12-inch screen with 360-degree camera views and split-screen capability. The 2023 Ram 1500 trucks also have active safety systems like forward collision warnings, blind-spot monitoring, and brake assist. The off-road Rebel package now has off-road cruised control called Selec-Speed Control, as does the Back Country package for the Big Horn and Lone Star trucks, and the off-road packages for other models. For the first time in 2023 you can get a heads-up display in the Ram 1500, which projects your speed and other vehicle information on the inside of the windshield.

The Elite is the new luxury truck

The Ram 1500 Limited Elite comes with every option Ram can imagine. First, on the outside, it has a multifunction tailgate, deployable bed step, bed cargo divider and tie-down hooks. On the inside, the new Elite package has heated and ventilated seats front and rear, 12-way seats in front, a premium stereo and a jeweled rotary shift knob. It’s about $3,000 more than the basic, if you can call it that, Limited and starts at $65,305.

The Ram 1500 is about the numbers, as much as luxury

Trucks are rated on their ability to do truck stuff, like tow, haul, and go off-road. For 2023 the numbers don’t change for the Ram 1500. It still has the optional air suspension and clever independent rear suspension that makes the 1500 one of the smoothest-riding trucks on the market. Rams also have the Multifunction Tailgate, which can open like a regular tailgate, or with doors that open sideways like a refrigerator.

Even in the basic Tradesman trim the Ram 1500 comes with appreciated features for $36,500. From there, you can step up to the Big Horn, Laramie, off-road Rebel, and luxury Limited Longhorn and Limited. The monster TRX, at $78,890, is the most expensive Ram 15oo you can buy, but it really sits in its own class with its 702-horsepower motor and fancy shocks.
