When it comes to new cars need an update, the Nissan GT-R fits the bill

The Nissan GT-R is one of the more recognizable new cars on this Jalopnik-sourced list, mainly because it hasn’t been updated in forever. This version of the Nissan GT-R was first seen at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show, and though some special editions have come out, it looks pretty much the same. The front end looks a bit more aggressive in the newest versions, but that’s where it ends.

The Tesla Model 3, Model S, Model X, and Model Y are new cars that look old

Across the entire electric vehicle brand, the Tesla Model 3, Model S, Model X, and Model Y look primarily unchanged. There are some new features on the Tesla Model S Plaid, like the spoiler; the entire Tesla line looks the same as when it first came out. To the untrained eye, a 2013 Tesla looks like a 2022 Tesla. Don’t hate us for this one, but the new cars don’t stand out much. Tesla even took away the steering wheel but didn’t change the outside.

The Toyota Tacoma is a new truck that has old looks

People love the Toyota Tacoma, but it looks largely the same every year. Toyota loves to add a new grille on the front and shout “VOILÀ!” The Tacoma is expected to get a full redesign soon, but the new truck just has some new bits and pieces for 2022. It doesn’t look that dated due to the minor upgrades on the outside, but give the people what they want.

The Chevrolet Camaro needs an update before it goes out to pasture

It is understandable that Chevy is trying to hone in on the vintage/old school style that worked well for new cars in the past, but it’s time to let it go. The Chevrolet Silverado EV was just announced this week, but even that looks a bit dated. Chevy trucks, in general, look a lot alike across the board, but the Chevy Silverado needs a grand update. Perhaps once the focus changes to the electric truck, the gasoline-powered vehicle will get a little update too. Or maybe not, because gas trucks are out. Just kidding. This new truck could still use a bit of help, especially with the headlights.
