A new Ford Bronco pickup truck teaser has appeared. But with the Ford Maverick in the works, most people didn’t think Ford would offer another new truck. But now it seems like the Ford Bronco Truck could make a surprise appearance.

Ford was being a little sneaky when they released their video that inspired the design that helped bring the iconic Bronco back to life. In the video, you will see a sketch of a new Bronco pickup.

The video is about a three-minute watch, so fans should definitely check it out. But if you’re only interested in the truck part, it can be seen at the 1:59 mark. 

The Bronco truck sketch is seen as a four-door option with a surfboard in the truck bed. This shows Ford’s desire to create vehicles to better meet the needs of those who go adventuring. A mother with kids is also included in the sketches to show a new family truck? The pieces of the puzzle are still being put together. 

According to AutoBlog, this makes tons of sense because the original Ford Bronco was offered with a pickup truck variant. Plus, the Jeep Gladiator is proving itself as a popular off-roading truck. It’s essentially a Jeep wrangler truck, and the Wrangler is currently the Bronco’s only true rival. 

But what about the Ford Maverick? 

The 2022 Ford Maverick will make it’s debut soon. It was expected to be a tiny truck with a single cab and unibody frame. However, recent clues have revealed that it’s bigger than expected. It actually has four-doors. 

The new Maverick is definitely looking beefier than expected. But it will have a unibody frame. It will ride on the same platform as the Ford Escape and Bronco Sport. As an all-wheel-drive vehicle, it may not be as capable as a 4×4 truck. 

But there are pros of a unibody frame to consider. Trucks like the Honda Ridgeline with a unibody frame offer a smoother ride. They handle like cars to be both nimble and sporty around town. The Maverick will most likely be incredibly easy to maneuver. 

What about the Ford Ranger? 

Also, the Maverick will be a smaller truck option. It’s not as wide as the Ford Ranger. But the four-door Ford Bronco is about the same size as the Ranger. Plus, the Ford Ranger doesn’t have off-roading chops yet. 

The Ranger is an excellent work truck and can handle trails if needed, but it’s not on the same level as the Jeep Gladiator or Toyota Tacoma. The new Bronco truck would fill that gap to provide a more capable off-roading truck. 

Another thing to consider is the price. The Ford Maverick is expected to be an economical option that begins around or even under $20,000. But a Ford Bronco truck would probably be a little more expensive. 

Things like pickup truck bed extenders are seen in the video too. Plus, we already know that the Bronco is highly customizable to meet driver needs. So, it’s possible that an aftermarket kit will come out to transform the Bronco SUV into a truck. 

This would allow Ford to provide the Bronco truck without going back to the drawing board to adjust the wheelbase and other parts. However, Ford hasn’t confirmed or denied a Bronco truck either. It might not be a thing, but it also could be happening. Don’t count it out yet.
