The New Honda Accord is a Smash Hit Among Buyers
The Honda Accord has long been one of the most popular midsize sedans in America. But it’s always lagged behind the Toyota Camry for overall sales. However, a radical redesign for 2023 has changed the game. And so far, the new Honda Accord gets rave reviews from buyers and critics alike.
How much is a brand-new 2023 Honda Accord?
Pricing for the 2023 Honda Accord starts at an MSRP of $27,895 for the base LX. And a fully loaded 2023 Accord kicks off at $38,190. Considering the standard 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, that base Accord is a phenomenal value for a new midsize sedan. In top-spec models, a built-in Google interface, Bose audio, and a head-up display are high-class luxury touches in a spacious sedan priced under $40,000.
Limited reviews highlight the pros and cons of the 2023 Honda Accord from real buyers
Unfortunately, the new Accord hasn’t been out for long enough to get a clear review picture, but the handful of consumer reviews you can find paint a clear picture. The Accord is comfortable, highlights Honda’s penchant for great handling, and offers a cavernous trunk compared to the competition.
Those leaving negative reviews indicated some software problems, though those aren’t uncommon with the first generation of a new design. Overall, most buyers like what the new Accord brings to the table, and see it as a vast improvement over the previous generation.
Honda Accord sales tell a bigger story than reviews
Perhaps a clearer indicator of the 2023 Honda Accord experience is its sales figures for 2023. Despite a late start, the new Accord has taken the fight to the inevitable Toyota Camry. And while that stalwart remains at the top of the midsize sedan pile, the Accord is catching up in a hurry.
So far in 2023, sales of the new Accord have jumped into the stratosphere. Posting a 38% sales increase so far in 2023, the midsize Honda sedan has left dealerships 152,202 times so far this year. In contrast, only 110,463 Accord models were sold in the first nine months of 2022.
And in September, those numbers got even bigger. Per GoodCarBadCar, the Accord posted a 51.25% sales increase compared to September 2022. Meanwhile, the Camry slipped by 8.52% and is up just 1.67% on the year overall.
Is the 2023 Honda Accord a reliable car?
Honda’s reputation hinges on reliability, and its manufacturing philosophy leaves little room to expect anything less. The 2023 Accord, so far, is just as reliable as previous generations. In short, you’ll have no trouble keeping it on the road with nothing but basic maintenance.
It’s hard not to love the newest Honda sedan

Despite a lack of all-wheel drive, the luxury touches and sharp Honda handling make it the best midsize sedan choice right now. There’s time for the Camry to catch up next year.
