Kia has plans to be carbon neutral by 2045, with many electric vehicles in the works. The latest EV offering from the Korean automaker is the Kia EV9. The all-electric SUV will make its debut on November 17 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Kia, like many other car companies, makes a push to go all-electric. The South Korean automaker already offers the Niro EV crossover. Also, the Kia EV6 electric crossover has a targeted release date in 2022. Kia aims to expand its electric vehicle lineup even more in the coming years. The next step for its electrification initiation is the EV9, an all-new Kia electric SUV that is set to debut on November 17, 2021. View the teaser photos of the Kia EV9.

There is a considerable amount of buzz for electric vehicles. For most of the past decade, much of this buzz has been for Tesla, which dominates the EV market. However, Kia and other automakers are narrowing the gap. As our country builds up the charging infrastructure to make electric vehicles more viable and practical, more people will likely buy them.

With the immense popularity of SUVs, it’s only natural that Kia places its focus on producing an electric SUV. Enter the Kia EV9. It will make its debut on November 17 at Automobility LA at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Other than the teaser images, Kia has not released many details about the EV9. Judging by the teaser photos, the EV9 appears to be a more boxy and electric version of the Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade. According to Kia, the EV9 has an “ultramodern exterior design, the schematics of which hint at a contemporary recreational treatment that’s brought to the fore by an upright and capable stylistic stance.”

The cabin of the EV9 appears to have an ultra-modern look. Kia describes it as “a highly conceptual cabin that has been honed to give the driver and passengers a light, flexible, and adaptive interior space.” The automaker also highlights two “standout features” of the cabin: a “stunning interactive ultra-wide display and a radical new take on the traditional steering wheel.” Additionally, Kia claims that the EV9 will have “state-of-the-art” technologies.

We’ll have to wait until November 17 to find out more details about the Kia EV9. This includes specs for the electric powertrain, release date, and price, as well as more photos.

The Kia EV9 and the lineup of electric vehicles are all part of Kia’s initiative to be carbon neutral by 2045. Kia announced this initiative on November 11 at a “Kia Sustainability Movement” virtual presentation, with the aim to be a “Sustainable Mobility Solutions Provider.” The automaker plans to be fully electric in Europe by 2035 and in key international markets by 2040.

In addition to the EV6 crossover and EV9 SUV, Kia will release many models with the “EV” moniker. Also, for its Plan S strategy, Kia stated that it will release 11 new electric vehicles by 2026. Furthermore, the automaker may build electric versions of its currently offered gas-powered models, such as an electric K5 or an electric Kia Forte.
