New Ram 1500 Classic Warlock Mojave Sand Released
In Dungeons & Dragons, warlocks get their powers from patrons: beings of great power and secrets. As the warlocks level up, these patrons whisper to them and bestow gifts. The Ram 1500 Classic Warlock may not play D&D, but their patron, FCA, has given the truck a gift package. Here’s what you get with the new Ram 1500 Classic Warlock Mojave Sand.
Warlock vs. Classic
The Mojave Sand Package is actually an addition on top of the special edition Ram 1500 Classic Warlock. The Warlock edition has been available for several months now.
Much as the Ram 1500 Classic is based on the older Ram platform, the Warlock itself is a throwback to an older vehicle: the original Dodge Warlock. Built in small numbers in the 70s, this was one of the early factory-customized pickups. With features like gold pinstriping, oak sideboards, chrome-plated running boards, and bucket seats, it was pretty luxurious for its time. The current Warlock isn’t pinstriped, but it does offer some neat upgrades.
Compared to the standard Classic, the Warlock has had much of its exterior blacked-out. Black badging, black sport stripes, black tow hooks, and so on. Even the interior’s all black. The grille and bumpers are redesigned and powder-coated black (good things for off-roaders), and the fenders have flares. On four-wheel-drive models, the suspension gets a 1” lift. Unlike the Classic, the Warlock edition can be equipped with side steps (black, natch), and isn’t available with a regular cab. This does cut down some of the ‘basic truck’ appeal and savings of the standard Classic. At least, unlike the original Warlock, black isn’t the only exterior color option.
Ram 1500 Classic Warlock Mojave Sand Package Details
The Mojave Sand Package offers a few things the normal Warlock doesn’t. The most prominent is the Mojave Sand paint, previously seen only on the limited-edition 2018 Ram 2500 Power Wagon Mojave Sand. Several other Warlock options are also added as part of the package. These include the sport performance hood and 20” aluminum wheels (three guesses as to what color they’re painted).
Like the standard Classic Warlock, the Mojave Sand version is offered with either a 3.6-liter V6 or the 5.7-liter Hemi V8. Both engines come with an eight-speed automatic transmission. And because it’s based on the Warlock, the only cabin options are the Quad Cab or Crew Cab, 4×2 or 4×4.
Ram 1500 Classic Warlock Mojave Sand Pricing
The standard Ram 1500 Classic Warlock edition starts at $35,595 for a 4×2 Quad Cab, not including the $1695 destination. Interestingly, the Mojave Sand package is actually cheaper than the standard model. Ram announced an MSRP of $35,435 for the Ram 1500 Classic Warlock Mojave Sand, not including the $1695 destination. And unlike the 2018 Power Wagon version, Ram has not announced any limit on production. So roll the dice, and start playing.
