Toyota knows that when you buy a full-sized truck with big power and four-wheel drive, you’re going to take it off-road. Or at least you want to look like you will. Now, the company has released a new lift kit for the 2022-and-newer Tundra that will raise it 3.0-inches in the front and 2.0-inches in the rear. But this truck lift kit isn’t just a set of taller springs, ohh no.

What comes in the new TRD Tundra lift kit?

The new Tundra lift kit was developed by Toyota’s TRD engineers and improves the truck’s prowess off-road. The kit includes Bilstein brand shocks, Roush forged upper control arms, and TRD-tuned coil springs. The kit is designed to work with the Toyota Safety Sense system, which comes standard on the Tundra and helps you, for example, stay in your lane or avoid a head-on crash.

It’s not a cheap kit, though, and will run $3,995 at the dealer, not including labor. But, it does come with a 3-year, 36,000 mile warranty. There is also a lift kit for the smaller Tacoma, too.

Which Tundras is the kit designed for?

You can add the new lift kit to 2022 and newer full-sized Tundra trucks with the iFORCE and iFORCE-Max engines and four-wheel drive. Trucks with the short bed or the 6.5-foot long bed will work. Unfortunately, it’s not compatible with the TRD-enhanced versions, like the TRD Pro or TRD Sport trucks with the adaptive air suspension. Those rigs are already super capable, however.  

What comes on the Tundra TRD trucks?

The Tundra TRD Pro comes standard with the i-FORCE MAX twin-turbo hybrid engine that makes 437 horsepower. It is distinguishable from other Toyota Tundra trucks by the TRD Pro decals and stamped logos, but also by its lifted suspension that gets special FOX brand internal bypass shocks that give the truck prodigious off-road ability. It also gets Toyota’s Multi-Terrain Select system with magical Crawl Control that unsticks the truck from deep stand, as well as several skid plates.

You can easily spot a TRD Pro thanks to its substantial 1.1-inch lift thanks to FOX brand internal-bypass off-road shocks instead of the Bilsteins other off-road Tundras get. The TRD Pro also gets Toyota’s Multi-Terrain Select to help control wheel spin and the magic low-speed CRAWL Control cruise control.
