The Nissan Frontier Forsberg Edition Is a Proven Winner
More and more vehicles are getting special editions to race across the desert. The Nissan Frontier is one of the latest options to prove its grit by winning a rugged competition. The 2024 Nissan Frontier Forsberg Edition won the Norra 500 and will be available soon.
What comes with the 2024 Nissan Frontier Forsberg Edition?
The 2024 Nissan Frontier Forsberg Edition is a special package with parts related to the Frontier used by Chris Forsberg to win the NORRA 500. It was developed by Nissan and Forsberg racing to dominate harsh environments.
It rides on 17-inch Axis Beadlock wheels wrapped in Yokohama Geolander X-AT tires for a 32-inch outer diameter. It also has the NISMO suspension lift for 9.5 inches of ground clearance.
This truck also features rock rails, forged upper suspension arms, high-performance shocks, a rock rack with integrated LED lighting, and a Nismo cat-back exhaust. Forsberg racing decals and unique badging complete the package.
It uses the standard 3.8-liter V6 engine with 310 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and helps the Frontier accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.8 seconds.
It would be more exciting with extra power, like the Ford Ranger Raptor. The Ranger Raptor has a 3.0-liter V6 engine with 405 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. It can reach 60 mph in roughly 5.8 seconds.
Also, the Fordsberg Edition kit is dealership-installed and older Frontier models aren’t left out. It’s available for 2022 and current models. But here’s the kicker. The Forsberg Edition costs $9,999.
The 2024 Frontier has an MSRP of $30,030, so tricking out your truck could get expensive in a hurry. It’s unclear how many Forsberg Edition kits will be available, so don’t hesitate to jump on it when it becomes available this fall.
That seems like a lot of money for aftermarket parts but it did when the stock production category of the NORRA 500 race in Mexico.
The race covers much of the original Baja 1000 trail and serves as an introduction to racing across desert terrain. This truck went to the Baja peninsula, won the race, and drove back to the Fordberg shop in Los Angeles. It remained road-legal the entire time.
