Nissan GT-R T-spec Edition Adds Upgraded Features and 2 Exclusive Color Options
A few months ago, Nissan launched the NISMO special edition of the Nissan GT-R performance sports car. It was assumed that this current model would last for some time. However, this has not been the case.
Nissan has since announced a new limited-edition GT-R recently, which is available in two unique colors. Additionally, it is spiced up with a variety of new and upgraded features that prove that the aging warhorse is not yet done. So, let’s look at the new color options and why the Nissan GT-R T-spec edition is an excellent offer for Nissan customers.
The Nissan GT-R T-spec edition’s upgraded features
The baseline GT-R model is the Premium trim level, priced at $113,540. Some of its key features include leather upholstery, a rearview monitor, sport seats, an 8-inch touchscreen, a Bose Premium Audio System, and a multi-function display.
The Nissan GT-R T-spec edition has borrowed some features from the Track Edition and the NISMO models. Upgrading from the Premium grade, the new limited model of GT-R T-spec is enhanced with wide front fenders from the previous Track Edition. Its aluminum wheels are painted gold and paired with a carbon-fiber rear spoiler by RAYS. It has body-colored door mirrors and black hood ducts. Additionally, it is adorned with T-spec badging.
Taken from the GT-R NISMO model, the T-spec edition also features carbon-ceramic with brake air guides. Meanwhile, the interior of the T-spec edition is enhanced with Mori Green leather-appointed seats, pearl suede accents, a quilted Alcantara headliner, and additional T-spec badges.
It’s powerful engine
Nissan has taken a holistic approach to offer precise performance. According to CarMag, the Nissan GT-R T-spec model engine has improved components, such as reduced weight and increased balance of power. Its twin-turbo VR38DETT V6 engine is rated for 565 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque.
The exclusive colors of the Nissan GT-R T-spec edition
The most iconic part of the Nissan GT-R T-spec edition is its two new exterior colors; Millennium Jade and Midnight Purple. According to Driven, Millennium Jade was previously applied on the R34 GT-R V-Spec II Nur, a rare GT-R to find. Less than 800 V-spec II Nur units were made, and only 156 cars were designed with the Millennium Jade color.
Midnight Purple is the second option for the T-spec model. Based on Midnight Purple III from the R34 GT-R V-Spec model, only 132 models had the original color option. Out of these, only 50 of them were made in the U.S.
So, not only are the two colors are a striking part of the Nissan GT-R T-spec edition, but they tie back heavily to the history of the supercar model.
Should you invest in the GT-R or the GT-R T-spec?
Nissan has produced an exceptional model for the market. The Nissan GT-R T-spec edition will be offered at $138,490. Meanwhile, the even more tricked-out GT-R NISMO model has a high price of $215,690.
Nissan has refined and improved its car driving experience by producing a limited option such as the T-spec edition. Due to high competition in the performance car industry, the new GT-R has stood out among other models. The only challenge for Nissan is maintaining another 14 years of performance for its customers with the new T-spec.
