Nissan is jumping into the electric vehicle market with four concept vehicles that look unlike anything else out there. It’s part of their plan to launch 15 electric vehicles by 2030, and to make electric vehicles a more cost-friendly alternative to internal combustion engine vehicles. The Nissan Hang-Out is one of Nissan’s new vehicles, an SUV with a family-friendly design and futuristic vibe that make it perfect for today’s family – or the extraterrestrials coming to invade Earth.

The Nissan Hang-Out has a theatre

The Nissan Hang-Out is an SUV that looks like a minivan. According to Motor1, the Nissan Hang-Out has been designed with all-wheel drive in mind. It’s almost like a mobile theatre, with a minivan-style low floor and theatre seating. Images of the Nissan Hang-Out show a family hanging out in the outdoors. The Nissan Hang-out has the potential to be a very family-friendly vehicle, assuming it becomes an actual vehicle.

Other renderings of the Hang-Out show a long, green vehicle with large wheels, sliding doors, and a panoramic sunroof. There’s even a sunshade that goes outside of the car to provide a place for kids to play, though it looks like something from a sci-fi movie.

The Nissan Hang-Out could be a competitor to the Kia Soul

If the Nissan Hang-Out does become an actual vehicle, it could rival the Kia Soul. The 2022 Kia Soul is an SUV-compact car that currently has an MSRP of $19,190. Its versatile design make it unique looking as well as the idea vehicle for some people. It comes standard with 147 hp and a range of 28 city miles per gallon and 33 miles per gallon. You can also upgrade to a 201 hp engine if you want to.

Nissan has major electric vehicle plans

Nissan’s future plans include going electric by 2030. It calls this its “Ambition” plan. Nissan’s chief executive, Makoto Uchida, said, “The role of companies to address societal needs is increasingly heightened…With Nissan Ambition 2030, we will drive the new age of electrification, advance technologies to reduce carbon footprint and pursue new business opportunities. We want to transform Nissan to become a sustainable company that is truly needed by customers and society.”

Nissan plans on making its lithium-ion battery technology better, as well as introducing cobalt-free battery technology. RoadShow says this will reduce battery costs by 65% by 2028, which would be a huge advantage for electric vehicles.

We don’t know yet whether the Nissan Hang-Out will become an actual vehicle. Car manufacturers design really cool concept vehicles all the time. Sometimes those renderings become the beginnings of a new SUV, car, or truck. Other times they remain just that; really cool ideas. Still, if the Nissan Hang-Out did become a reality, it could mark the beginning of a new type of SUV. It could be the kind of SUV crossover that many families are looking for, that also happens to be electric. And with its futuristic design, it could help launch electric vehicles into a future we’ve only imagined.
