Nissan caught viewers by surprise in its 2022 Super Bowl ad featuring comedy and action at its best. At the center of it all were the Canadian actor Eugene Levy and a Nissan Z, which is expected to be unveiled in the spring of 2022 as a 2023 model.

While every car manufacturer wants to captivate fans in every arena, only a few of them manage to come up with exciting content. However, Nissan caught viewers by surprise despite all odds in its 2022 Super Bowl ad featuring comedy and action at its best. At the center of it all was the Canadian actor Eugene Levy and a Nissan Z, which is expected to be unveiled in the spring of 2022 as a 2023 model.

The redefined streamlined look of the Nissan Z

In 2022, it is a great time to be part of Japan’s auto muscle segment with the Mazda MX-5 back, the new Honda Civic undergoing “plastic surgery,” and the ability to now buy a Subaru BRZ at your local car store. People are loving what they are seeing. Now the Nissan Z is also a solid option.

The Z is a revolutionary car dating back to 1969. According to Forbes, it played a crucial role in the attainability of dreams and reality when it was first introduced as explained by Ashwani Gupta, chief operating officer of Nissan Motor Company Forbes.

In 2023, the Nissan Z will come in three all metallic monotone colors, including Black Diamond, Rosewood, and Gun. Besides these bold colors, buyers can choose from six other two-tone schemes. Generally, the exterior is truly relaxing.

The car will be equipped with a 400 hp 3.0-Liter twin-turbo engine and connects to the rear wheels using an automatic or manual transmission systems to control power delivery. The Z’s standard 9-speed automatic transmission system has a clean record for reliability. For smooth and engaging rides, drivers can use the 6-speed manual transmission system.

The Z can reach 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds, 0.5 seconds faster than its predecessors. Its current top speed is over 160 mph, while it stands at 350 lb-ft of torque. Lastly, the car has a compelling base price of $40,000.

Nissan ensured the Z 3.0-liter engine would be as economic and efficient as possible to rival its determined adversaries, including the Toyota Supra, Mustang, and Dodge Challenger. However, we expect more exterior and engine performance improvements since the car is not yet out.

On the other hand, the cozy interior has two power-adjustable seats, cruise controls, and extra amenities such as a blind-spot monitoring system for safety. There are two 12V power outlets and two USB charging ports inside a redesigned cockpit. Though the cargo room is still a mystery, $40,000 for a sports car doesn’t give you everything.

The ‘Thrill Driver’ ad

Nissan’s leading man Levy, stars as an action hero called Dragon in one of the two Super Bowl ads. He is seen wearing a serious face as he speeds under a tunnel in the Z. As explained by CNET, the scenario turns into an action packed Hollywood-style scene with explosions going off everywhere.

The other 15-seconds of the ad shows two different cast members, Danai Gurira and Dave Bautista, on a motorbike. Gurira is cast as Hotshot, while Bautista bears the Pointman name. It is also thrilling, with things seeming more serious than ever. You can watch the two videos on Nissan Motor Corporation’s Official U.S. Newsroom.

What is Nissan lining up for 2022?

Nissan is expanding its quest for electric vehicles with the new 2023 Ariya SUV, which will hit the U.S. streets later in December. Joining the Ariya is the new Frontier, Rogue, Pathfinder, Altima, Armada, and the Kicks. Though some were all unveiled last year. It is turning out to be an exciting year for Nissan and 2023 is promising some of the same excitement.
