Nissan Teases a 2022 Pathfinder Worth Waiting For
The Nissan Pathfinder is far from the most popular SUV on the road today. It seems to check plenty of boxes: affordable, low-maintenance, and a decent option for a family vehicle. In previous years, however, the Pathfinder has been relatively lack-luster for many people, and it has struggled to compete with the family SUVs from brands like Kia and Infiniti that seem to be swooping into the market with full force. Perhaps that is why Nissan decided it was time for a totally new Nisan Pathfinder, and with Nissan’s teasing, it leaves us with pretty high expectations.
It was in need of a major makeover
Now we aren’t saying there was anything wrong with the looks of the 2021 Nissan Pathfinder. In fact, it was a pretty good looking SUV. The problem that was being faced, however, is that with so many high-end luxury brands and exotic car manufacturers stepping up to offer their own SUVs, the world of having average-looking family vehicles is coming to an end. With a completely redesigned exterior and interior, the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder will be stepping up to the plate to look just as striking and modern as its competitors.
Big competition amongst third-row-seat SUVs
If you’ve ever been in the market for an SUV with three rows of seating, chances are you’ve noticed that there aren’t a ton of options out there. Sure, you have popular choices like the ever-popular Kia Telluride, which is modern, stylish, and affordable. Still, with the Nissan Pathfinder competing at the same price-point, some major changes were needed — changes that will be coming for the 2022 model. This will likely include many safety features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist.
Could a new Pathfinder prove successful for Nissan?
The next generation of the Nissan Pathfinder is setting up to be the best one yet, but will it be enough to shake its past? Only time will tell. Luckily for Nissan, the market for family-friendly SUVs seems to be on an upward trajectory, and making major improvements to an already established and produced SUV might just be the right move.
