What’s new for the 2024 Kia Sorento?

The 2024 Kia Sorento got a new face. It has an updated style that’s modern, sleek, and more aggressive. Plus, the refreshed taillights and new wheel designs complete the package to make this compact SUV more attractive. 

In the interior, you’ll find a larger curved panoramic display with two side-by-side screens. The 12.3 digital gauge cluster and infotainment screen craft a seamless experience. But that’s standard on higher trims and the Sorento starts with a 4.3-inch digital gauge cluster. 

The Kia Sorento X-Pro builds upon the rugged X-Line trim with 17-inch wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, an 8.2-inch ground clearance, high-utility roof rails, built-in navigation, and torque vectoring all-wheel drive. 

But the gas-powered models aren’t as sporty or luxurious as the Kia Sorento Hybrid, potentially making them less appealing. 

To make matters worse, the 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid is a carryover model. It has the same old style and a 10.3-inch touchscreen without rugged upgrades. It won’t be updated until 2025 even though it’s often rated as better to drive. 

How many mpg does the 2024 Sorento Hybrid get?

The 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid gets an EPA-estimated 39 mpg in the city and up to 35 mpg on the highway. It does 11 mpg better than the gas-powered Sorento with its underpowered base engine. 

Also, the 2024 Sreonto PHEV or plug-in electric model gets an EPA-estimated 34 miles of range on a single charge and 79 MPGe. It takes about 3.5 hours to fully recharge with a level 2 charging station. 

The Sorento Hybrid packs 227 hp and can reach 60 mph in about 7.2 seconds. The Sorento PHEV has 261 hp but is heavier, so it reaches 60 mpg in about 7.6 seconds. 

With the base engine, the ICE Sorento has 191 hp and reaches 60 mph in about 9.5 seconds. The upgraded engine features 281 hp and reaches 60 mph in roughly 7.4 seconds. 

The most efficient and exciting Sorento models shouldn’t make people wait until 2025 for the updated styling!
