There are few more important factors when it comes to buying your next car than price. We are all looking to get the best price we can in hopes we can stretch our budget to get as close as possible to getting our dream car. The Dodge Charger has been a dream car for multiple decades. Well, if the 2021 Dodge Charger is your dream car, now is a great time to get into one.
How much does the Charger cost?
Consumer Reports just released a list of the best deals on new vehicles across all segments. The Dodge Charger SXT came in as one of the most highly discounted cars on the market. The base model SXT is currently marked down a whopping 12 percent from the $29,995 MSRP. After the discount, buyers can grab a Charger SXT, after fees and such, for $29,501. $500 isn’t anything to shake a stick at.
Keep in mind that 12 percent is only the beginning. According to Consumer Reports, the discounts can go up from there. The 12 percent seems to be the average discount. CR says that this deal is only guaranteed through the end of February.
Does the 2021 Dodge Charger have many problems?
Modern American cars don’t always have the best reputation. They can be a bit crude and inefficient, but somehow, that is not the case with the 2021 Dodge Charger. CR gave the Charger an overall score of 79/100. This is a strong rating, considering the fact it’s a muscle car. Consumer Reports tends to judge everything harshly, giving no quarter for the cool or fun factor. However, the Dodge Charger got a predicted reliability rating of 4 / 5 and landed on CR’s quietest cars list.
So not only is the 2021 Charger likely to have few problems, the ride is comfy and quiet. Despite its rowdy reputation of being straight piped and hot-roaded around town, the Charger doesn’t have to be obnoxious. The Charger SXT is not like the V8 versions. The base model comes with a V6, making between 292-300 hp, depending on which trim level you choose.
Is the SXT a good car?
CR didn’t have too many complaints about it. On the road test, it scored a very impressive 85/100. The reason the overall score was a little lower is due to fuel-economy and emergency handling.
Although the V8 versions are cooler and more fun to drive, the V6 is still a good motor and does much better with fuel than the V8. The V6 gets about around 25 mpg, which is pretty significant compared to the V8’s combined 20 mpg.
Even though the fuel economy isn’t bad, but could certainly be improved. However, the cabin is a comfortable and quiet ride. The suspension is said to be very forgiving and sucks up most road imperfections with ease. CR calls the noise refinement a “strong suit” of the Charger. The ride is quiet. Road and wind noise is successfully dampened, making for a cozy and peaceful ride, assuming you didn’t straight pipe it and paint it lime green.
How many Miles will a Dodge Charger last?
The Charger has been a super successful car for Dodge, especially with the reintroduction in 2006. Many people are wary about how long modern cars will last. Unlike the 1960s Chargers, we don’t have the luxury of seeing how the news ones do after 50 years. It seems most owners agree that the more modern generations can likely last somewhere between 200,000-300,000 miles on average if maintained and well cared for.
While 12 percent off won’t make anyone rich, but it may give the edge to anyone on the fence about grabbing what is a sneaky-good car.
