Tiger Woods has been one of the richest athletes in the world for many years now. There is no doubt that with all this wealth he has a fondness for cars. It turns out, however, that fondness extends to golf carts. Read on below to learn more about Woods’ tricked out golf cart and other vehicles that are part of his collection.

Golf cart of champions

Tiger Woods is one of the most impressive and titled golf players of his generation. His accolades include 14 major titles and 79 PGA Tour wins. It’s no surprise that such a decorated player would have an equally decorated golf cart.

In 2012, Woods’ old swing coach, Hank Haney, published a book titled The Big Miss: My Years Coaching Tiger Woods. The book covers the six years Haney worked with Woods and includes a number of interesting insights, one of which relates to Woods’ golf cart tastes.

Haney revealed that at one point during the six years he coached Woods, Woods owned a tricked-out golf cart. The features of the amped up cart included spinner wheels, a Tiger Woods logo, a stereo system, and a maximum speed of 28 mph. For those not familiar with the golf cart world, note that the normal golf cart maxes out at 14 mph.

More than just golf carts

While 28 mph may be impressive speed for a golf cart, Woods has been associated with other vehicles that hit significantly higher speeds.

Cadillac Escalade

Tiger Woods’ Cadillac Escalade has received a lot of attention because it was the car Woods was driving during a 2011 car accident. Woods was behind the wheel in the early hours of the morning when he hit a fire hydrant and a tree in his neighbor’s yard.

There are worse vehicles to be driving during an accident, however. The Escalade, Cadillac’s first entry into the SUV market, is known for its size and safety scores.

Buick Enclave

Woods had a significant endorsement deal with Buick, which included the Buick Enclave and a concept car, the Buick Bengal Roadster. The Bengal, however, never made it out of concept.

During his time endorsing Buick, Woods was complimentary of the Enclave. Since the endorsement ended, however, publications have speculated that Woods and Buick were never a great fit.

Porsche Carrera GT

This car has received almost as many awards as Tiger Woods himself. The Carrera GT was named number one on the Top Sports Cars of the 2000s and number eight on the Top Sports Cars of All Time. Popular Science honored the Carrera GT with the Best of What’s New award in 2003.

The power of this car is undoubted, and it is perhaps most well-known as the car Paul Walker was driving when he died. Anecdotes indicate the power may have been too much for Woods. It is said that his first time behind the wheel, he spun out into the grass near his house and then took the car back to the dealership.

Mercedes-Benz S65

This is yet another car that got banged up with Woods behind the wheel. The Mercedes-Benz S65 is a luxurious car with 621 horsepower and a V12 engine.

This is the car Woods was driving when he got pulled over a DUI offense. The Mercedes experienced torn sidewalls and flat tires, indicating that Woods clipped a curb at a relatively high speed. The car was impounded but presumably made its way back to Woods’ garage at some point.

While Woods’ cars may not as flashy as those driven by other athletes, there is no doubt his collection packs some serious power. Though based on Woods’ driving history, he may be better off sticking with his souped-up golf cart.
