Of Course Guy Fieri’s Car Collection Matches Those Frosted Tips
Even if you’ve never considered yourself a foodie or master in the kitchen, you probably have heard of the Food Network. Moreover, most have heard of one of the popular channel’s iconic shows, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, and the series’ iconic host, Guy Fieri. Fieri is a lively professional in the kitchen and has carved out a career as one of the prominent television faces.
While you may associate him with crazy recipes and mouth-watering flavors, Fieri is also a gear head. He loves cars! And his unique collection of cars is just as big as his personality. It also matches his bright frosted tips, a signature hairstyle he wears so well.
Guy Fieri loves all things food, flavor, and flames
He was born in 1968 as Guy Ramsey Ferry and grew up in California, where he nurtured his culinary interests early in childhood. At ten years old, he and his dad built a pretzel cart. At 16, he spent a year studying in France and developing his craft in the kitchen. He changed his last name to Fieri, as an homage to his original family spelling, and his career in flavor took shape.
He stepped into the limelight when he won The Next Food Network Star competition in 2006 and began hosting other highly rated shows, including Guy’s Grocery Games and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. With all that success, Fieri soon found he could afford his other love in life, collecting cars.
He’s just as passionate about sweet rides
Guy Fieri may be just as passionate about collecting sweet rides as he is about creating sweet dishes. Among some of the coolest in his collection are rare classic cars and iconic American muscle cars. For example, he’s often depicted driving his 1967 Chevrolet Camaro in his show, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. In a way, Fieri’s found a way to share his favorite things, food, and fuel.
His cars match his frosted tips
Stepping into Guy Fieri’s garage, you would notice that many of the vehicles in his collection have bright yellow paint jobs. In his collection, the first car, and one of his most prized possessions, is his 1971 Chevy Chevelle. He also owns the first 2011 yellow Chevy Camaro off the production line.
Another bowtie favorite is his 2007 Corvette he nicknamed “Big Bite.” It was this car he bought for himself after landing his first Food Network cooking show gig. And as you guessed it, he prefers yellow. It’s unclear, though, if he chose the color to match his frosted tips or frosted his hair to match his beloved cars.
A car collection as vibrant as his personality
Guy Fieri isn’t just about color when it comes to his car collection. Each ride seems to represent his bold and outgoing personality, too. For example, he owns a beefy 1976 Jeep CJ-5, complete with a fire wrap, making a statement. Fieri is also the proud owner of a 1968 Pontiac Firebird, a car considered one of Pontiac’s rarest classics.
He also drives a 2007 Shelby Cobra he calls, “Live Fast.” It’s an iconic and rare gem, gifted by Carroll Shelby, and is so loud and fast, Fieri’s young son Ryder doesn’t like to ride in it.
Guy Fieri likes flames in the kitchen and on his cars. He continues to live his best life in both worlds.
And most fans would expect his renowned car collection to match his frosted tips and outgoing personality on-screen. At this rate, his future is looking just as bright as the custom yellow cars he owns.
