Performance and off-road capabilities
On the performance front, the F-150 Raptor dominates the Silverado ZR2. Its 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine doles out 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. In comparison, the 6.2-liter V8 engine in the Silverado ZR2 only generates 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. The F-150 Raptor boasts terrain-gripping traction with its standard 35-inch or optional 37-inch tires, while the Silverado ZR2 rolls on 33-inch tires.
The F-150 Raptor also has Fox Live Valve internal bypass shock absorbers, as well as Off-Road, Baja, and Rock Crawl modes. Additional off-road features for the Silverado ZR2 include Multimatic DSSV spool valve dampers, front and rear electronic differential lockers, and a Trail mode.
Exterior design and features
The arrival of the ZR2 coincides with a mild refresh for the 2022 Silverado. Notable exterior design features include boomerang LED headlight accents, a large meshed grille, a steel bumper, and red tow hooks. The Silverado ZR2 also has a concealed dual exhaust and new skid plates.
Relative to the Silverado ZR2, the F-150 Raptor has an exterior design that is more distinctive. In particular, its larger tires and molded arches give it a commanding presence. Like the Silverado ZR2, the F-150 Raptor has tow hooks and skid plates.
Interior design and features
The interior is an area where the Silverado ZR2 has an advantage over the F-150 Raptor. It features a sleek new dashboard with a massive 13.4-inch infotainment system touchscreen display and a 12.3-inch digital cluster. The Silverado ZR2 also has Jet Black/Graystone leather, as well as a new electronic shifter.
In comparison, the size of the infotainment system touchscreen and digital cluster in the F-150 Raptor is only 12 inches. While the Silverado ZR2 interior has a more luxurious look, the interior for the F-150 Raptor goes in a sportier direction. Features include roof-mounted toggle switches, red accents on each side of the dashboard, and a steering wheel with a red center marker.
