The United States Initial Quality Study i based on exterior/interior vehicle quality, how well the tech works, how well the safety systems work, Apple Carplay/Android Auto connectivity, manufacturer apps, and smartphone charging.
So, it doesn’t matter that the 4Runner has dated tech because it doesn’t have as many issues as newer vehicles do. Being older has allowed it to work out plenty of kinks. Plus, it has a solid build quality.
Tech in the 2024 4Runner includes an 8.0-inch touchscreen with clear graphics and simple menu steps. It supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Keyless entry, heated seats, power-adjustable seats, ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera system, ventilated seats, and automatic climate control are other tech highlights.

J.D.Power gave the 2023 4Runner a reliability rating of 86 out of 100, which is great. Scores between 81 and 90 are above average while scores between 91 and 100 are best.
The average 4Runner will make it between 200,000 to 250,000 miles. But with regular care and routine maintenance, it can easily surpass 300,000 miles. Plus, some examples have made it over 400,000 miles
Plus, the 4Runner retains its value. The average model has a 19% depreciation rate after five years of ownership. So, if you pay $55,260 for a new model it could maintain a resale value of $44,562.
