Only 1 Honda SUV Is More Powerful Than a Ferrari Purosangue
Honda has a rich racing history that many automotive enthusiasts respect. Honda Performance Development recently paid tribute to that racing history by modifying an exciting new Honda SUV. HPD put IndyCar parts into a Honda CR-V Hybrid, creating a vehicle known as the HPD Beast. Honda probably named it the “Beast” because its power output is ferocious and wild. One Honda SUV is more powerful than a Ferrari Purosangue, thanks to Honda Performance Development.
Honda Performance Development made a CR-V that’s more powerful than a Ferrari Purosangue
Honda Performance Development makes automotive masterpieces. The company develops racing parts and engines that produce incredible performance specs. HPD outdid itself recently by modifying a new Honda CR-V Hybrid and making it track-worthy. In fact, the modified CR-V Hybrid is so powerful that even the mighty Ferrari Purosangue can’t compare.
The HPD Beast uses a 2.2-liter twin-turbocharged V6, a six-speed sequential transmission, and a hybrid system to make 800 horsepower. The 2024 Ferrari Purosangue uses a V12 engine to make 715 horsepower. So, Honda’s HPD Beast modified CR-V Hybrid produces more horses than the new Ferrari SUV.
Why did HPD modify a CR-V?
Honda’s Performance Development team likely modified the small hybrid SUV because its exterior design is so unique. The CR-V was recently redesigned, and the team made use of the hybrid system. The HPD Beast has plenty of shock value as a small hybrid SUV with the power of a race car.
The Honda CR-V Hybrid can be modified to have a similar exterior to the HPD Beast, but the average consumer will never own a CR-V Hybrid that can make 800 horses. Luckily, the small hybrid SUV produces enough power for most drivers.
The Honda CR-V Hybrid produces plenty of torque
The 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors to make 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque. The small hybrid SUV achieves 43 miles per gallon in the city and 36 miles per gallon on the highway.
The CR-V Hybrid makes plenty of torque compared to the gas version. Honda’s small hybrid SUV provides an exciting driving experience. It competes with the best small hybrid SUVs, like the 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid and the 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.
Should you get a Honda CR-V Hybrid?
The Honda CR-V Hybrid starts at $32,950. It has heated front seats, a one-touch power moonroof, and roof rails. The CR-V Sport Touring Hybrid starts at $39,100. The small hybrid SUV features standard all-wheel drive, a heated steering wheel, and a wireless phone charger.
Car and Driver recommends the CR-V Sport Hybrid and CR-V Sport Touring Hybrid. The 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid isn’t the most affordable in its segment by a long shot, but it provides good value for the money.
