Let’s face it, we all put off oil changes. We all “forget” to rotate our tires and check out cabin air filters. It happens. Life gets in the way. Manufacturers know that, too. So, many new SUVs are now sold with complimentary maintenance so that your new car will not only last longer and run better, but keep its resale value. Many are now offering two-, three- and four-year free maintenance on your new SUV. But only one brand offers five years or 60,000-miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance, and that brand may surprise you.

Jaguar offers five years or 60,000 miles of free maintenance

Jaguar has Elitecare on all of its SUVs that offers five years or 60,000 miles of complimentary maintenance as well as roadside assistance and more. Elitecare is available on all new Jaguars and covers factory-recommended scheduled maintenance, such as oil and filter changes. Jaguars from the 1970s and 1980s were not known for their reliability and this is one way Jaguar is trying to show customers that reputation has been left far behind.

There aren’t that many caveats, either. You have to bring your Jag to a Jaguar dealer, and it must be within one month or 1,000 miles of the scheduled interval. Elitecare also includes a five-year/60,000 mile warranty, roadside assistance, and some other goodies.

What Jaguar SUVs come with complimentary maintenance?

Jaguar makes the F-Pace and E-Pace SUVs. The F-Pace was launched in 2017 and updated for the 2021 model year. It can be ordered as a stylish luxury SUV with either a 246-horsepower turbocharged four cylinder, or with monster 395-horsepower turbo- and supercharged inline six. The F-Pace has built-in navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and several driver aids, and shares its control suite with the Land Rover Defender. It starts at $50,900. A lucky few will be available to afford the hot-rod SVR package.

The E-Pace is a subcompact luxury SUV that offers many of the styling cues of the F-Pace, just in a smaller package. The E-Pace leans into the brand’s English heritage and offers “cricket ball stitching” on the controls, for example. Overall, the interior of the E-Pace feels like a luxury SUV, but it’s clean and stripped down without a lot of flashy wood or complicated surfaces. It has a mid-century inspired design. E-Pace comes with the same 2-liter four-cylinder a the base F-Pace. It starts at $48,000.

Other brands offer up to four years of complimentary maintenance

If you order one of Lincoln’s top-line Black Label editions, you get free maintenance for up to four years or 50,000 miles. Lincoln’s Black Label Navigator, Aviator and Nautilus SUVs go from medium to giant and can hold five to eight passengers. Lincoln offers a points system, too, that allows you to earn points that you can redeem for premium services at your dealer.

Volvo, Hyundai, Kia, BMW and Mini all offer three years or 36,000 miles of complimentary maintenance on their new SUVs. Toyota offers two years or 25,000 miles of free maintenance, while Porsche and VW offer two years or 20,000 of complimentary maintenance.

Several other companies, such as Audi, offer extended maintenance plans at extra cost. Regardless, there’s no excuse for you skip an oil change now.
