There’s at least one thing every generation can agree on, and that’s trucks. From Baby Boomers to millennials and everyone in between, two pickup trucks are in the top 10 most popular vehicles to own. The Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado edged rivals out.

Two pickup trucks could be the things that bring generations together. According to Insurify, the Ford F-150 and the Chevy Silverado are the only two pickup trucks ranking in the top 10 most popular vehicles across most generations.

While it’s more popular to own a Ford F-150 or Silverado among older generations, at least they still made it among younger ones.

The F-150 is the most popular vehicle for Boomers and Generation X to own. The Chevrolet Silverado is the fifth most popular vehicle for Boomers and Generation X. The F-150 is the sixth most popular vehicle for millennials to own and the Chevy Silverado is in 10th place.

Generation Z is the only generation that doesn’t have pickup trucks ranking in the top 10 list of the most popular vehicles to own.

The Honda Accord is the most popular vehicle for millennials to own. The Honda Civic is the most popular vehicle for Generation Z to own.

One could assume that if Generation Z could afford pickup trucks they would go for the F-150 and Silverado based on their popularity among older generations.

However, only seeing two trucks rank across different age groups is surprising. The Ford Ranger, Toyota Tundra, Toyota Tacoma, Chevy Colorado, Nissan Frontier, Ram 1500, Nissan Titan, and more trucks didn’t make it in the top 10 for any generation.

Millennials and Generation Z are leaning toward smaller, more affordable vehicles instead of traditional gas-guzzling. Plus, having a better fuel economy is more popular among the younger generation.

Because of this trend, it’s surprising that the Ford Maverick Hybrid isn’t in the mix. However, that truck has been hard to get due to production delays and constraints.
