Most of the longest-lasting cars on iSeeCars’ lifespan study are out-of-production after Americans shifted their interest to SUVs and crossovers. Fret not; if you want a new vehicle with the potential to go the distance, four of the long-lasting sedans in the longevity study are still being made today. Check out some cars that made the list and are still rolling off the line today, like the Honda Civic, Accord, Toyota Corolla, and Camry.

What are the longest-lasting cars?

  • Toyota Avalon
  • Chevrolet Impala
  • Honda Accord
  • Toyota Camry
  • Lexus GS 350
  • Honda Fit
  • Honda Civic
  • Lexus ES 350
  • Toyota Corolla
  • Mazda6

These models took the top 10 spots in iSeeCars’ lifespan study, with the Toyota Avalon earning the No. 1 spot. The Avalon has a potential lifespan of around 245,710 miles. Still, it’s not an indication of the maximum possible lifespan of these vehicles. Executive Analyst Karl Brauer said that the figures in the study reflect average odometer readings for higher mileage examples and that “most of these cars are still in use and going strong.”

However, only four cars in the study are still in production. The Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Camry, and Honda Accord continue on into the 2023 model year. Specifically, the Honda models have been around for around 50 years, the Corolla for nearly 57 years, and the Camry for 40 years.

Moreover, every model still in production has a potential lifespan of over 200,000 miles. Of course, these cars could sail past that figure with proper care and maintenance.

How many miles should a Honda Accord last?

According to the iSeeCars lifespan study, the Honda Accord is the third longest-lasting car in the segment. Specifically, the Accord has a potential lifespan of about 226,168 miles, just behind the Chevrolet Impala’s 230,343.

How long will a Toyota Camry last?

A used Toyota Camry has the potential to last an average of 223,249 miles, with maximum potential odometer readings of well over 300,000 miles with proper care and maintenance. Moreover, the Camry is back for the 2023 model year and starts at around $27,315, per TrueCar

How long do Toyota Corolla sedans last?

The Toyota Corolla has a potential lifespan of 204,266 miles, according to the iSeeCars longevity study. However, many used Corollas have well over 300,000 miles on their odometers.

A Corolla owner that pays attention to service intervals and repairs issues as they arise could go the distance. Better yet, the Corolla is back for the 2023 model year and more diverse than ever; the automaker’s most popular compact car offers hybrids, a hatchback, and even a performance-oriented hot hatch.

How long does the average Honda Civic last?

A used Honda Civic has the potential to last an average of 205,335 miles. However, like its larger sibling, the Accord, a Civic could last over 300,000 miles if owners look after them. Additionally, the Civic is still in production, unlike a Toyota Avalon or Chevy Impala

What brand has the longest-lasting cars?

Toyota has the most vehicles in the longest-lasting cars study. Moreover, Toyota’s cars take the No. 1 spots in the sedan, minivan, truck, SUV, and hybrid categories. The only segment that Toyota didn’t rank for is the EV list, where Tesla took the top spot.
