The 2021 Audi Q5 earned the top safety pick+ award, making this midsize luxury SUV a safe option. That means that the IIHS found that the Audi Q5 SUV performed well in almost all of the crashworthiness areas tested. The score of “good” is the highest rating the IIHS gives, which the Q5 received on the overall evaluation.

This rating also applies to the 2021 Audi Q5 Sportback midsize luxury SUV. Both of the Sudi SUVs met the requirements for forward collision warning and received top scores for the headlights.

The IIHS also through the 2021 Audi e-tron SUV deserved the top safety pick+ award

According to the IIHS, the 2021 Audi e-tron large luxury SUV also received the top safety pick+ award. The 2021 e-tron received the “good” score on the overall evaluation. In the categories of driver injury measures, all of the segments got top marks from the IIHS.

The video above shows the 2019 Audi e-tron Quattro Premium Plus luxury SUV. The IIHS says that the rating applies to the 2019 through 2022 models as these vehicles are structurally similar and quite safe. The roof strength received a score of “good,” as did the vehicle-to-vehicle front crash prevention. The forward-collision warning safety feature met the requirements set forth by the IIHS. All of these tests combined allowed the e-tron to receive the top safety pick award.

The 2021 Audi Q8 is safe, but didn’t get the extra accolades

The 2021 Audi Q8 is another large luxury SUV that scored well in most IIHS tests. The Q8 only received the top safety pick award from the experts, but that is still a good sign. The award applies to the Q8 with the Premium Plus trim equipped with HD Matrix design LED package and the Prestige trim. Unfortunately, the Premium and Premium Plus trim received a score of “poor” on the headlight test.

The front crash prevention vehicle-to-vehicle test obtained a score of “superior.” This is in part to the standard Audi Pre Sense Front safety feature. The Q8 luxury SUV avoided a collision during the 25 mph test.

When it comes down to it, these three luxury SUVs from Audi impressed in the crashworthiness tests. After making it through rigorous evaluating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, you can be sure these SUVs will keep your family safe.
