The US Navy is the third largest military service branch in terms of personnel and has always been at the forefront. Pushing the boundaries of aviation with every new generation of fighter jets, the Navy has recently added a new fighter jet to 4012 operational aircraft. F-35C Lightning II

The F-35C entered the Navy service in 2019 and is designed for carrier operations. The larger wings and enhanced landing gear handle the stresses of aircraft carrier launches and recoveries. F/A-18E/F Super Hornet

As a carrier-based multirole fighter, the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is an evolution of the original Hornet with improved avionics, larger fuel capacity, and greater payload capacity. MV-22 Osprey

This fighter combines a helicopter’s vertical takeoff and landing capabilities with the speed and range of a fixed-wing aircraft. MV-22 Osprey’s tiltrotor design allows for versatile operations, including rapid troop deployment and logistical support. An estimated 30 units are in service with the Navy.

EA-18G Growler

Thanks to its electronic warfare capabilities, the EA-18G Growler provides air superiority and protects naval strike groups from electronic threats. It entered the service in 2010 and is designed to disrupt enemy radar and communications by jamming and deception to protect strike and support aircraft.

P-3 Orion

If you want a reliable aircraft for maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare, nothing beats the P-3 Orion. Equipped with progressive sensors and tracking systems for patrolling large areas of the ocean, it can detect submarines and conduct reconnaissance missions. KC-130 Super Hercules

Introduced in 1962, the KC-130 Super Hercules is a variant of the C-130 Hercules. It supports Marine Corps operations by providing in-flight refueling for aircraft and transporting personnel and cargo. The versatility in aerial refueling and tactical airlift operations means it is an indispensable asset for extending the scope and endurance of military aircraft.

C-2 Greyhound

This aircraft is designed specifically for carrier operations, delivering cargo and personnel to and from aircraft carriers. The Greyhound features a rear ramp for quick loading and unloading and is known for its ability to operate in the challenging environment of a carrier deck. Its unique design makes it a key component of carrier-based operations.

S-70 Black Hawk

Since its introduction in 1979, the S-70 Black Hawk has been used for several missions, including troop transport, medical evacuation, and logistical support. Its reliable design and versatility allow it to operate in diverse environments and perform critical support roles. This was featured in Black Hawk Down, highlighting its role in the Battle of Mogadishu.

C-20 Gulfstream IV

This modified version of the Gulfstream IV business jet is used primarily for transporting high-ranking officials and other VIPs. The aircraft combines luxury with performance, providing a comfortable and efficient travel option. Its luxury and operational efficiency blend provides an essential transport option for high-profile missions and dignitary travel.

F-14 Tomcat

Although it retired from the service in 2006, the F-14 Tomcat was an incredible carrier-based air superiority fighter. Famous for its variable-sweep wings and long-range Phoenix missiles, the F-14 was a dominant air superiority fighter during its service. F-4 Phantom II

Many video game fans remember the F-4 Phantom II from Top Gun: Combat Zones, where it appears as a bonus plane. It was a multirole fighter that retired from the service in 1987. But back in the day, it was one of the most successful and versatile fighters with a powerful radar system and a high-speed performance.

Bell 407

It has a sleek, four-bladed rotor system that improves flight stability and minimizes noise. This versatile aircraft is utilized for a wide range of missions, such as transportation, reconnaissance, and medical evacuation. Having a speed of 140 knots, it is a dependable choice for various operational needs.

C-40 Clipper

The C-40 Clipper is a military version of the Boeing 737-700, used primarily for transporting senior military and government officials and cargo. It offers advanced avionics and high-performance capabilities suited for executive transport. The Navy currently has 17 units in service.

C-26D Metroliner

Flying at approximately 300 knots, it is a military variant of the Fairchild Metro 23, used for tactical transport and reconnaissance missions. P-8A Poseidon
