In 2017, the SUV market saw a surge of new models with improved features, performance, and design. The three SUVs from 2017 for every budget listed below come from Honda, Toyota, and Audi. If the base version of the sport utility vehicle doesn’t have everything on your list, the automaker might have offered it on a higher trim.

SUVs from 2017 for every budget include the Honda CR-V

When Edmunds selected the Honda CR-V as one of its best SUVs from 2017 for every budget, there were many good reasons. The interior of the CR-V is surprisingly roomy and comfortable for a small SUV, with 75.8 cubic feet of cargo space. It handles well and has thoughtful storage areas to add to the features. Honda redesigned the CR-V in 2017, making it even better while fitting into many budgets.

Some of the better safety features on the 2017 CR-V include the Collision Mitigation Braking System and Lane Keeping Assist. Automatic High-Beam Headlights also help make driving easier, available on the EX and up.

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration gave the 2017 Honda CR-V a five-star safety rating. On top of that, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety made the Honda SUV a Top Safety Pick Plus winner.

Current Range: $15,440 – $29,988

Toyota’s Highlander is one of the best SUVs from 2017 for every budget

The 2017 Toyota Highlander is one of the best all-around SUVs but does fit into the midsize category. Edmunds says it is the right size for many families and offers a third row. While the third row isn’t the biggest option out there, it is suitable for most kids.

Toyota included a four-cylinder engine for the base LE trim, but upgrading to the V6 offers better fuel economy. Fuel economy is 22 combined with the base and 23 mpg combined with the V6. Some of the better safety systems are Forward Collision Warning with Auto-Brake, Lane Departure Alert, and Steering Assist. Toyota also included Driver Knee and Passenger Cushion Airbags for more protection.

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration gave the 2017 Toyota Highlander a five-star safety rating, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety made it a Top Safety Pick Plus winner.

Current Range: $22,500 – $37,998
