What does Direct Connection have to do with the Challenger?
This is all part of the launch of the Direct Connection performance and racing parts brand and a network of Power Brokers. These are Dodge dealers that are certified to service and sell Direct Connection products.
Direct Connection is a reboot of a brand that was first created in 1974 before becoming Mopar Performance Parts. They have a lot of accessories that can beef up vehicles like the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
Its new catalog includes factory-warrantied tuning kits that can increase the power of a Hellcat V8 by over 100 hp. Plus, it has full Dodge Challenger bodies for drag racing builds. Mopar will continue to use the Jeep Performance Parts name, but Mopar Performance Parts will end with the advent of Direct Connection.
Is the Challenger Hellcat a good car?
Yes, the 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is an excellent muscle car if you’re ready to race. The standard setup pumps out 717 hp, and the Redeye build generates 797 hp. You can also upgrade to the Super Stock model for 807 hp that includes dedicated equipment for drag racing.
The Challenger SRT Redeye Widebody can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds. It can also complete a quarter-mile in about 11.8 seconds at 125 mph. It has responsive handling for curvy backroads too.
Just be aware that the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is thirsty. It only gets an EPA-estimated 13 mpg in the city and up to 22 mpg on the highway. But as the Chief Donut Maker, you’ll cover the costs of fuel just fine.
The Challenger is due for a remodel. The 2015 interior is starting to show its age. But you will enjoy plenty of luxury comfort with leather-covered surfaces with heated and ventilated seats. The 8.4-inch infotainment system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
