Popular Ford F-150 Complaints

Constant Recalls

When you buy a new vehicle, you want to be able to enjoy it in peace, but so far, that hasn’t been possible in the 2020 Ford F-150.

There have been five recalls for the 2020 Ford F-150 so far, and it’s still early in the year. To make matters worse, the recalls involve severe problems to fix.

So, when drivers return to the dealership to have their trucks fixed, they might be waiting for hours or even days.

Recalls have involved transmission issues, bright headlights that won’t dim, electrical system issues that could start fires, and more.

BRIGHT Headlights

Have you ever been driving at night, and suddenly someone comes by with really bright headlights that are blinding?

As a driver, when you see another car and your lights fail to dim, you may feel awkward about blinding them as well.

Well, you may have been blinded by or blinding people with a Ford F-150. The Ford F-150 has high series LED lamps that are supposed to turn off automatically, but unfortunately, they don’t. They can’t be manually dimmed either.

There was a recall issued about this headlight problem because it made the F-150 unsafe. After all, blinding drivers dramatically increases the risk of accidents.

The Old Look

The Ford F-150 hasn’t received a fresh redesign since 2014. It’s been years since this fleet has been cosmetically updated, aside from new headlight and tail light designs.

Sure, the F-150 has been recently switched to being manufactured with an aluminum body, but that’s not noticeable to the naked eye.

The Ram 1500, GMC Sierra, and Chevy Silverado have all received fresh new looks. This also allowed them to add more storage in their cabs.

The Ride Quality

Drivers have had trouble parking their massive Ford F-150 trucks for a while now. Ever since the 2014 model, Ford has received complaints about the rough handling that the F-150 has. It’s not very agile and can be challenging to maneuver in tight spots.

Plus, it doesn’t provide a smooth ride. It’s bumpy, and the cab is loud. While Ram and other competitors have focused more on producing a quiet truck, the F-150 has been more concerned about updating to modern tech.

So, if you like having advanced technology and don’t mind a noisy cabin, then this isn’t that much of a big deal.

Transmission Issues

Some drivers have faced a problem with the automatic 10-speed transmission being slow to change gears.

On top of that, the transmission has already been recalled for displaying the incorrect gear. The gear slip may slip and change on its own.

For example, you may think that you put your truck in park, but in reality, it may go into reverse instead or roll forward.
