Popular luxury SUVs under $100,000 include the BMW X5
When Edmunds ranked the best luxury SUVs for this year, the 2023 BMW X5 had a lot to offer buyers. It comes packed with the latest technology, but all those systems can take a bit to get used to. BMW’s engines are powerful, with everything from a plug-in hybrid all the way up to a performance V8.
BMW’s Drive system comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the navigation and voice work together effortlessly. Automatic parking is available, but Edmunds says it can be hard to use sometimes. The new surround-view 3D camera system is helpful but might require some getting used to.
Systems like Traffic Jam Assistant combine adaptive cruise control with a lane-keeping assist to offer semi-autonomous driving in low-speed situations. Evasion Aid helps stabilize the SUV if avoiding an obstacle, and Emergency Stop Assistant can help bring the X5 to a safe stop.
MSRP range: $61,600 – $85,400
Kia’s EV6 is a popular luxury SUV under $100,000
Edmunds picked the 2023 Kia EV6 for a few good reasons. While the EV6 is an electric vehicle, it has more to offer buyers than some conventional gasoline-powered SUVs. The new GT model gets 576 horsepower and has a zero to 60 mph time of 3.4 seconds. The range is 310 miles for 2023 with the rear-wheel drive option.
Plenty of safety equipment comes standard, like forward collision mitigation, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning, and lane-keeping assistance. It also gets adaptive cruise control, parking sensors, an automated parking system, and a surround-view camera system to make parking easier.
Dual-panoramic displays offer navigation, and an augmented reality Head-Up Display adds to the tech. An onboard power generator and heated front seats are also standard.
Estimated Price: EV6 GT starts at $61,400
If you want a third row, the Audi Q7 has extra space
The 2023 Audi Q7 uses exceptional materials in the cabin and has a high-quality build. Audi included many technology features standard but has plenty of additional features buyers can add if necessary. It does have three rows, though the back row is best for children. Four USB ports, a 12-volt outlet, and a charging pad make the Q7 family-friendly.
Some better safety systems include Audi Side Assist and Audi Pre Sense. Both of these help alert the driver of obstacles or an impending collision. Audi Active Lane Assist helps the driver stay in the lanes with small steering corrections.
Audi’s navigation system allows you to simply write on the screen instead of searching for letters. During testing, this wasn’t an issue for Edmunds. Power-folding seats in the second and third rows make life easier for this popular luxury suv under $100,000.
MSRP range: $58,200 – $74,000
These options should get you started if you are looking for a brand-new sport utility vehicle. While all the features you want might not come standard, BMW, Kia, and Audi probably have a package available you can add on. Since these popular luxury SUVs are under $100,000, more safety systems never hurt.
