Late for your flight at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)? Well, Delta Airlines is, for a short while, ferrying passengers to their connecting flights in none other than an eye-popping red Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Time to fly.

Delta Airlines partnered with Porsche to put LAX passengers in a 911 GT3 RS

If you’re cutting it close on that connecting flight between now and the 26th of February, Delta Airlines has a creative solution. We’re not talking people movers or those irritatingly pushy carts. No, we’re talking about a red Porsche 911 GT3 RS with the sole purpose of taking LAX passengers on one-to-one airplane transfers.

It’s a spectacular way to get around, not to mention a story to tell at your destination. After all, Zuffenhausen’s track-ready 911 variant develops 518 horsepower and 342 lb-ft of torque from its 4.0L flat-six. Better yet, the mill produces its peak power at a superbike-esque 8,500 RPM.

Of course, the GT3 RS’s most redeeming feature is its handling; a GT3 RS will pull well over 1.1 gs through corners. Good luck staying sufficiently entertained after taking a ride in a high-revving supercar. That book on tape had better be outstanding.

Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time Delta Airlines has performed such a wild stunt with Porsche. According to Yahoo! News, the German car marque used its bleeding-edge hybrid hypercar, the Porsche 918, to put smiles on passengers’ faces at its hub in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).

I’ve been on some pretty tight timetables and lengthy layovers at airports worldwide and can’t think of a better way to get to a connecting flight. Well, that is until BMW lets me ride an R 1250 R between terminals. Your move, BMW.
