Prepare Your Wallet: The Ford Ranger Raptor Isn’t Cheap
It’s probably reasonable to assume that the Ford Ranger Raptor is expensive. However, we’re working to determine how much the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor will cost. The ordering books for this monster truck opened in the United Kingdom, providing a few clues for us in America.
How much does the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor cost?
Based on an estimated guess, the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor will start at about $52,500. The regular Ranger is expected to start at around $28,000. This would mean it costs $24,500 for the most beastly model.
Also, the 2022 Ranger has an MSRP of $25,665. So, this would give the new model a price increase of $2,332 over the outgoing generation. That’s a pretty high jump to cover the redesign and upgrades.
In the United Kingdom, the Ranger Raptor begins at £57,340, which comes to about $72,277. The 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor has an MSRP of $69.252 making the mid-size opinion more expensive across the pond.
However, we don’t know the official pricing for the 2023 Ranger Raptor in America and vehicle prices are typically inflated in other countries. The Ranger Raptor could be a few thousand cheaper.
How much power does the Ranger Raptor have?
The 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor is equipped with a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that cranks out 284 hp and 362 lb-ft of torque. The American version may have more or less power with this engine.
It’s the same engine used in the Ford Explorer ST but it cranks out 400 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. The American Ranger Raptor could provide somewhere between 284 and 400 hp, but we are still waiting for the official figures.
Some reports suggest that the 3.0-liter V6 pumps out 392 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. The 2022 Ranger has a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine with 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque, so we hope the Ranger Raptor cranks out a little more juice.
Also, the Ranger Raptor across the pond features an optional twin-turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine with 211 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque.
The engine options are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. However, the Ford Ranger Raptor could have an available manual transmission in other countries.
What else do we know about the 2023 Ranger Raptor?
The 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor is built to conquer the wild. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that are wrapped in 33-inch all-terrain tires. It sits pretty with an 11.1-inch ground clearance. Plus, it has a water fording depth of up to 33.5-inches.
Plus, the reinforced suspension includes Fox Live Valve dampers and next-generation Fox 2.5-inch Live Valve internal bypass shock absorbers with position-sensitive dampening. It adjusts in real-time to provide time-sensitive control.
Use the anti-lag system to keep your momentum steady. It keeps the turbos spinning for up to three seconds after you remove your foot from the accelerator. This can only be activated in Baja mode.
We can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the new Ford Ranger Raptor. It will arrive for 2023 in America. Stay tuned for the latest updates about pricing and power.
