The Price of a 2017 Acura NSX Today Is Astounding
It’s sad that the Acura NSX is being discontinued after the 2022 model year. And while we wipe away our tears and ogle at the all-new 2022 NSX Type-S – which is the exotic car’s last stand – we can’t help but wonder how much a used copy now sells for. After all, it’s 2022 and the second-generation NSX came out in 2017. So, it has to be somewhat affordable now, right?
How much does a 2017 Acura NSX cost today?
A nationwide search on CarGurus reveals that many 2017 Acura NSX examples are priced anywhere from $135,900 to $169,000 depending on the car’s mileage and location. Some of the higher-priced models have fewer miles on the odometer or are shod in special colors like the highly coveted Valencia Red Pearl. On the other hand, some of the lower-priced examples have more miles on the clock (around 20,000) and are located in places that typically aren’t known for supercars – like Bethesda, Maryland – so the market is a little lower.
Are you surprised at how much a 2017 Acura NSX currently costs? Did you think it would be a little lower? I did. In fact, I had my fingers crossed that the car would be selling for around the $100,000 mark as if I can actually afford one. To that point, there’s something about an exotic car of the NSX’s caliber being priced lower that makes it more attractive. If you don’t know what I mean, check out the current prices for a 2008 Audi R8 and prepare to have unpure thoughts.
Is it worth it to buy a 2017 NSX?
If you have the extra cash and can afford the maintenance, technically, yes. The second-generation Acura NSX is a futuristic exotic car that uses a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that’s mated to a trio of electric motors, all of which make a combined output of 573 hp. That power is put down through all four wheels and can rocket the supercar from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, according to Acura.
Aside from its outstanding performance, one of the main highlights of the Acura NSX is that it’s easy to live with. According to Car and Driver, the NSX is a supercar that you can drive every day as it’s easy to get in and out of and it won’t wake up the neighbors. The NSX’s hybrid powertrain allows the driver to put it in “Quiet mode,” which is when the car is driven solely by its electric motors. That quiet operation allows for discreet driving, when needed, which is not something you would expect out of a high-end exotic car. Try doing that with a McLaren.
Will NSX prices ever drop?
Probably not. Since the second-generation NSX will be discontinued, it’s more likely to go up in value – or at least remain the same – for years to come. In case you need any proof, check out current prices for the first-generation NSX and prepare to be astounded. Many of them are going for close to $100,000, which is astounding considering it’s a much older car. In that case, the second-gen version isn’t looking so expensive now, is it?
