Production of the 2024 Ford F-150 Is Finally Ramping up
We have good news if you’re waiting for a brand-new truck. The restyled Ford F-150 is ready to enter production. You could see its new face arriving at dealerships soon. See how long the wait for the 2024 Ford f-150 really is.
How long is the wait for a 2024 Ford F-150?
With the best-case scenario, a new truck can be built within six to 12 weeks of your order date. But the 2024 Ford F-150 might take a little longer to arrive.
While the order banks opened for early deliveries on September 13, 2023, it could take about six to eight months. This depends on which model you order.
For example, F-150 models with the new Pro-Access Tailgate aren’t expected to arrive until June 2024. The hybrid engine and off-roading upgrades could take longer as well. This is if things stay on schedule.
It’s no secret that schedules in the automotive industry are susceptible to delays. The semiconductor chip shortage and other supply chain constraints are still causing havoc.
Plus, rumors suggest that the 2024 F-150 was supposed to enter production on December 18, but it was pushed back until the last week of January.
This could be because the United Auto Workers (UAW) strike impacted production of the 2023 F-150 when factories were closed.
Only 36,336 F-150 models were produced in December, which is a 25% decrease compared to November. Holiday time off could be a factor in the reduced production.
However, Ford could also be wrapping things up with the 2023 model to prepare factories to build the 2024 model. The 2024 model could have entered production on time as well, causing numbers for the 2023 F-150 to drop.
Either way, it’s time for the 2024 Ford F-150 to get moving. It features attractive exterior tweaks with a modern style that’s more confident and aggressive. It’s most noticeable with the Tremor thanks to wild orange accents.
It has a standard 12.0-inch touchscreen. The standard 3.3-liter V6 engine is being replaced by the more powerful 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost engine. Also, the 3.5-liter V6 Hybrid engine is a no-cost option over the regular 3.5-liter engine.
Plus, the Raptor and Raptor R models have power upgrades and suspension tweaks to provide a better performance. The Raptor R has a slight increase in power to deliver 702 hp.
Hopefully, new F-150 models will arrive at dealerships by February. But some models could include a few months of waiting.
