Surprisingly, the Ram 1500 Has the Best Resale Value
We have a surprise for y’all today! The Ram 1500 has a new flex because it has the best resale value out of every pickup truck. We know you would think that the Toyota Tundra or Tacoma would be on top. But the Ram 1500 claimed the throne somehow.
The Ram 1500 has the best resale value
According to Torque News, the Ram 1500 has the best resale value right now. Owners are being offered a lot of cash to trade in their trucks right now. If you are willing to part with your truck, then you could come out on top.
A study by iSeeCars analyzed over 1.2 million used car sales in April 2021 to determine how much the prices of used vehicles have increased and to determine which options have the best resale value.
Used vehicle prices have increased by 16.8 percent or by about $3,926 over the past 12 months. Used trucks and sports cars have the highest price increases, making them the worst vehicles to buy and best to sell.
The Ram 1500 has increased by 28.8 percent in value. The GMC Sierra came in second place with a 28.8 percent increase. The Chevy Silverado 1500 gained a 27.1 percent price increase, and the Toyota Tundra increased in value by 26 percent. The Ford F-150 wasn’t in the top 10.
Why are prices increasing?
The global microchip shortage is restricting new truck supply. This is linked to a restricted used truck supply because fewer people are trading in their trucks. So, we have a combination of a decreased supply and increased demand.
iSeeCars Analyst Karl Bauer explained that the current used truck price increase is unparalleled. Prices may stay elevated for the foreseeable future due to the magnitude of the global chip microchip shortage. But while used truck deals are hard to find, there are still some good deals out there. Some models won’t have as large of a sticker shock as other used vehicles.
According to Driving.Ca, production of the 2021 Ram 1500 is idling due to the chip shortage. Stellantis recently announced that half of its assembly plants in North America will close due to chip shortages.
Jeep, Dodge, Ram, and Chrysler models are affected by these closures. Like other automakers, Stellantis used their chip supply to produce their most popular vehicles while they could. The semiconductor shortage is expected to last well into the second quarter.
What’s so great about Ram trucks?
If all pickup truck models are facing shortages, why is the Ram 1500 the most valuable option right now? It was remodeled in 2019, and other trucks haven’t been able to catch up yet. According to Edmunds, the unique suspension delivers an unparalleled smooth ride and sense of control.
Plus, the cabin is spacious and quiet for relaxing rides. There is plenty of storage for all of your gear. The center console bin is massive, there are hidden compartments under the rear floor, and the optional RamBox locking bins that are built into the sides of the truck bed are very useful.
The optional 12-inch touchscreen looks excellent, and multiple USB and USB-C ports are available. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard. The layout is simple, and all of the controls are easy to reach. It’s a well-rounded option that provides a comfortable ride, strength to get work done, and impressive off-roading capabilities.
