What’s a step beyond Limited? Well, in Ram’s case, it’s the new Ram 1500 Limited Elite. For 2023 Ram is leaning into the luxury truck trend hard and creating a new model that slots above the already luxurious Limited and adds special features and luxury touches, as well as extra dollar signs, to make the ultimate Ram truck. The new Limited Elite will be the most expensive Ram 1500 that doesn’t have a TRX badge on it.

You can spot a Ram 1500 Limited Elite Edition in the wild by its multifunction tailgate, deployable bed step, bed cargo divider, and adjustable cargo tie-down hooks on the outside. It will only come as a Crew Cab with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with the eTorque system. Ram’s eTorque uses a small electric motor booster, instead of an alternator, to add power and help with fuel economy.

The Elite will improve an already plush interior

Ram trucks use a rotary shifter on the dash, which saves room in the middle for a seat or huge console, and in the Elite it’s jeweled. Sure, the front seats are heated and ventilated, but in the Elite, so are the rears. The Elite also gets a unique instrument cluster, a heated steering wheel, 12-way front seats, and a 19-speaker sound system. The Elite will start at $65,305 when it hits dealerships next month.

Is the elite worth the $3,000 premium?

While the Elite is more than $65,000, the Limited starts at $62,685 and has many of the same features. The big difference is the addition of the heated and ventilated back seats, as well as some of the extras like the multifunction tailgate. In many ways, the Elite package is the same as the $2,145 Limited 10th Anniversary Edition, which offers the same equipment. If you want to get the 3.0-liter turbo diesel, however, you’ll have to stick to the Limited.

Is the Ram 1500 a good truck?

The Ram 1500 was redesigned in 2019 and since then it has won several awards. Ram was named Best Truck Brand by U.S. News & World Report, and after the redesign, it was named MotorTrend’s Truck of the Year. 1500 is known for excelling in several areas, namely the power of its V8 and its comfortable interior. Inside any Ram, you’ll find an interior that offers soft-touch materials and plastics that don’t look or feel as cheap as others.

Even in the basic Tradesman trim the Ram 1500 comes with appreciated features for $36,500. From there, you can step up to the Big Horn, Laramie, off-road Rebel, and luxury Limited Longhorn and Limited. The monster TRX, at $78,890, is the most expensive Ram 15oo you can buy, but it really sits in its own class with its 702-horsepower motor and fancy shocks.
