If you’re wondering where the Ram 1500 EV is, you aren’t alone. Is the electric Ram 1500 EV falling behind the competition? The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is already in production, and the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV is on the way. So, let’s see how far along the Ram electric truck is.

When is the Ram 1500 EV coming out?

It feels like the Ram 1500 EV is late to the electric truck party. But it is supposed to drop in 2024, like the Chevy Silverado EV. This means that the first electric Ram truck models could be delivered in 2023.

However, unlike the Silverado EV, information about the Ram electric pickup truck is still being kept under wraps. But the delay could be on purpose. Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares doesn’t feel nervous.

He noted that Stellantis has the opportunity to sit back and observe rivals. By judging where the Ford F-150 Lightning and Silverado EV excel and struggle will allow Stellantis to tweak the upcoming electric Ram.

What to expect with the electric Ram 1500

The Ram 1500 EV is being adjusted every month in response to the capabilities of rivals as they enter the market. For example, the Silverado EV will have a model with a 400-mile range.

Based on this new information, the Ram EV might have a 400-mile range as well. But Ram has said the truck will offer 500 miles. It will need at least a 300-mile range to compete. Also, the Ford F-150 Lightning provides between 230 to 300 miles of range.

Travares shared that Stellantis is going after rivals, but they also have the opportunity to adjust the competition by enhancing the appeal of their own models compared to what other automakers are doing. He also shared that the real winner of this competition is the consumer.

This could mean that Stellnatis is listening to what consumers want, which could be low prices and faster charging times. The Ram 1500 EV will need to have a basic work truck model like the Silverado WT EV and F-150 Lightning Pro to compete. Both of those models start under $40,000.

How much power will the Ram 1500 electric truck have?

The Ford F-150 Lightning can tow up to 10,000 lbs, and the Chevy Silverado EV will release a model that can tow up to 20,000 lbs. To compete, the 2024 Ram 1500 EV will need to tow at least 10,000 lbs.

We hope that the electric Ram comes out with a 500-mile range to shake up the competition, but it will need to charge quickly. The Chevy Silverado EV can replenish about 100 miles in just 10 minutes.

Ram is also known for having the most modern and comfortable interior. So the Ram 1500 EV should take things to the next level with high-quality materials, massive infotainment screens, and innovative features.

We haven’t seen the interior yet, but the Ram 1500 electric truck may have work to do. The fixed glass roof of the Silverado EV is pretty neat. We will probably learn more about the electric Ram soon.

By the time it comes out, the Tesla Cybertruck could be on the road! Plus, Ford will be cranking out 150,000 trucks per year! Hurry things up, Ram. People need to know if the 1500 EV is worth waiting for.
