What some would call Ram’s flagship, the 1500 TRX, will no longer be after this year. Ram’s announcement today is that it will stop offering it in December. The 702 hp flagship of the Ram 1500 line will go out with 4,000 TRX Final Edition last-call trucks. Hail to the Hellcat!

“The introduction of the Ram 1500 TRX ushered in a significant shift in off-road performance trucks with a halo effect that will last for years to come,” says Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis. “This current chapter in Ram’s high-performance trucks is coming to a close, but it’s not the end of TRX’s story. While we’ll have more news to come at a later date, we’re proud to offer our loyal performance enthusiasts the very special TRX 6.2L Supercharged V8 Final Edition.”

How much is the Ram 1500 TRX Final Edition?

Of course, all good things come with a price. In the case of these Final Edition trucks, that comes to $119,620. Keep in mind that a non-final Edition TRX starts at $84,850, so we’re talking an almost $35,000 price hike. So what does one get for their $120,000?

Several things will separate the TRX Final Edition truck from its pedestrian standard TRX. Ram says it is offering three exclusive colors: Delmonico Red, Night Edge Blue, and Harvest Sunrise. There will also be unique Satin Titanium beadlock wheels, special TRX Final Edition graphics, and seat stitching, along with the TRX Level 2 Equipment Group. The dash and center console are emblazoned with special badges to remind drivers how special the truck they’re driving is. 

Is the Ram 1500 TRX Final Edition better than an F-150 Raptor R?

Also, every tech feature Ram offers will also be in the package. The rest of the pickup is straight-forward TRX. That means, besides the Hellcat engine with 650 lb-ft of torque,  you get LED lights, auto-dimming heated side mirrors, a 12-inch infotainment system, and a nine-speaker sound system. 

And keep in mind that the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R pricing starts at $109,900. How many base Raptor Rs are made is up for debate, but you can guess that they are more laden with options than not. However, there is one thing about both Ram 1500 TRX Final Edition and Raptor R prices. You won’t be able to get either at MSRP. 

What will Ram replace the TRX with?

Unfortunately, both trucks will follow the same stealership trend of marking up hot-selling models to ridiculously high numbers. Raptor R trucks going for $150,000 and more seem to be common. We expect similar antics for Final Edition pickups.

Finally, head honcho Kuniskis hints that more power madness is coming for future Ram trucks. We don’t know if he’s talking about electric or gas power. But clearly, Ram and Dodge, both headed by Kuniskis, are planning to continue both brands’ performance reputation. So, while the TRX is almost gone, there could be even more powerful trucks just on the horizon.
